Sunday Assessment for 1-16-11
Wants:
- Get to sleep before 11PM every night.
- Play one Wii game that I haven’t played in a while.
- Remember to strike a balance between work, school, hard lifting, and the enjoyables in life.
- Wash my hair more.
- Uhhh. I don’t know. Itemize my time when I get home so I don’t dawdle as much?
- Vacuum again.
- Don’t be afraid to be intimidated of heavy gut-wrenching squats, just keep getting under the bar.
- Optimize time with the girl.
Needs:
- Change oil in car. Yeah. Still.
What I’ve accomplished:
- Maintained taking a picture every day.
- Rocked my third week of Starting Strength.
- Having a lot of fun racking up skill points in Dragon Quest IX, while ignoring the storyline.
- Watched Rocky III. Never knew how many times Apollo actually says “eye of the tiger”.
Had a light nosebleed this morning. Still need to be wary. I’ve been very gentle while blowing my nose, otherwise.
I haven’t openned Saturday and Sunday in a long time. It is exhausting. I still prefer getting in my hours in one shot like this, but it’s not for the weak-willed. Thankfully, I’ve learned from the best (my boss) on how to keep everybody satisfied and the store operational though a bit of chugging along and delegation. I rest last.
I was so tired last night that I thought, “Surely I’ll fall asleep fast.” So I didn’t take any melatonin. Half an hour later, still exhausted, still awake. I fell asleep when I consciously turned off all active thoughts. Sometimes I can fall asleep while my mind wanders. Other times, the mere activity of thoughts will keep me awake. It’s taken a long time to learn how to patiently void my brain of thought.
Let’s see. Got some Pizza Hut the other night. Was it Wednesday? Yes. Shared that with my mom. Ate some leftovers with the girl on Thursday. It was also dinner on Friday. Good stuff. By yesterday, I needed something else. I also needed to buy more milk and yogurt. So I got some fresh angus and had a taco salad for dinner.
I’m still amused at how my package of lettuce cost MORE than the beef. So did the pineapple chunks I bought. How exactly does fresh produce cost more than fresh meat? I don’t get it.
Week four of starting strength looms. The weights will get heavier, and it’s going to be a matter of forcing myself under the bar and trusting myself. A bit of patience will be incredibly important, too.
I think I’ll do the second half of that music thingie I did. I already have the list of albums, I just ran out of time the other night. Shit, that was ten days ago? Where the hell does the time go?
I think I’ll have more leftover pizza hut. Yum.
