Me: “I’m slow.”
Joe: “Today in general?”
Me: “I’m just really slow at drive-thru.”
Joe: “I think you’re being a little hard on yourself.”

And suddenly I felt better.

(But, I am seriously slow. I have a perfectionist streak, so I’m frustrated when I can’t do everything. I can’t take orders in my ear while taking money, I end up completely blanking. So I slow down and focus on one thing at a time. As a customer, I’d much rather wait a long time and have someone attentive and get the order right, than repeat myself and feel repeatedly ignored. So to speak. I may have been slow, but I did everything right.)

Having come here at random my immediate impression, before reading through, was that you were slow to order at a drive thru. I was fixing to rant about the idiot who parks there pointing at menu items and asking the disembodied and disenchanted voice whether the fish was good today and how many more fries do you get if super sized.

But no, you are the other end of the passion play that is the drive thru. Have mercy.

Drive-thru isnt always easy. I hated taking money and orders at the same time. Soon you’ll learn how to do with perfected ease. Everyone has their off days, and thats ok. Just do better next time. Kick some ass in drive-thru, it will make you feel better the next time you have a bad day =]
