It’s a box.

It’s my new video card!

It’s actually a little bit shorter than my older one.

Works just fine.

I’ve had some other computer issues. Periodically, windows installer likes to stop working. Doom3 installed last night, but kept crashing. Well. Not even a crash. It would just POOF disappear in the middle of playing. FarCry wouldn’t install. I tried installing Left 4 Dead, and that also gave me an error. Made me want to cry. I just wanted to play a video game!

Four reinstalls of Windows later, I’m workable. There’s a really, really strange glitch where every time Windows loads, the keyboard stops working. It’s the most retarded problem I’ve ever seen. Prior to Windows loading, keyboard works fine. I can hit del to get into my BIOS and all that good stuff. To bypass this problem, I have to disable then reenable my keyboard in Device Manager. I’m obviously typing on my keyboard right now. I can not fathom for the life of me what would cause such a problem.

Left 4 Dead installed without a hitch and plays awesome. It’s a little odd fighting fast-moving zombies, rather than slow-moving zombies, but it’s fun. It’s yet another first-person shooter. I’m playing with computer characters right now because I’m afraid of human compadres being annoyed with me. I’m afraid of being a big loser! Heh.

I think I’ll install Pirates! next. I’ve heard great things about the open-ended gameplay.

😀 I think I might need to build a computer sometime in my life. Lol, I am majoring in computer science next year and living in the “computers and computing” learning community, I can’t look like a n00b with a lame computer!

Yay, for the card coming in! How exciting. What version of windows are you running? Man, your computer sounds as bad as my bf’s when he tried to play WoW–it kept crashing his computer. Now me, I run Linux and I’ve never had an issue with WoW or really anything. My firefox crashes significantly less than it does on my work computer and bf’s which all runs windows.

Gotta love a video card with its own fan. The kind of card where you boot up and the lights in the house dim.

I didn’t mean to insult Roxanne. Please forgive me. I know there’s something in the BIOs that is making bf’s computer unstable, we just can’t figure out where–and lazy too. It’s actually a good computer as long as he isn’t playing WoW, maybe that’s the problem.
