Lifting for 8-28-9

    Workout XXV, FINAL WORKOUT

    Front Squats:
    5 @ 95 lbs
    3 @ 135 lbs
    1 @ 165 lbs
    1 @ 175 lbs
    1 @ 185 lbs

    alternating sets
    BB Shoulder Press:
    5×3 @ 95 lbs

    T-Bar Row
    5×10 @ 95 lbs

I just added 20 lbs to my front squat. Woo. My 175 single came up so solidly that I had to add ten more pounds. 185 was one of those push or dump singles. I decided to push. Form wasn’t perfect, so I’m going to use 175 as my base “personal best” for 5/3/1. I think part of my problem before was that I was using a squat rack with a safety that’s too high. The squat rack I used today is PERFECT for front squats. I get nice deep depth, and if I lose it at the bottom, I just dump it forward. Simple.

Dumbbells were being moved everywhere this evening, as it’s the last day before this YMCA’s annual shutdown. So I did some heavy barbell presses. I decided to test out t-bar rows for 5×10, as I realized doing db rows for 5×10 is atrocious for progression. Having achieved this, I’ll start my t-bar rows at 85 lbs. Room for progression.

Time for more everquest until I close tomorrow night.

Hmm I watched an episode on youtube, it was much better then I expected 🙂 I wonder if 10 years from now young people will initially think that the concept of ‘The Office’ isn’t interesting.

1. The Office is freaking awesome. 2. I hate doing nothing, not being busy is depressing.
