Lifting for 3-31-9

I did actually get in my Sunday morning jog. It was rainy and miserable outside, but getting it done felt great. I felt bad for getting up and going while Candi was so sleepy, but I’m committed to myself. She was feeling off Monday morning, so no joint jogging. Meant I got another full day of rest. Woo for me. This only means she’s going to be ungodly sore next week.

Went forth with our plan to library on a Monday, something I haven’t done all year. I just didn’t want to put everything off until today. I felt like I had “so much more” to do yesterday. Yet.

My problem is starting. I’ve read my resources. I kind of knew most of what I wanted to say, what I wanted to cite. So I decided, “Okay. Write what I know, and put the citations in later.” I’ve already partially copied down some of my notable quotables, so that’ll help. But basically, I wrote what I knew, and added some (CITATION NEEDED) where applicable. Felt like I was writing a wikipedia article. It’s as I thought: I know more than I give myself credit for. I’m nearing the end of my paper, just one small section to write. I’m on page 6, about. I still have to write an introduction and conclusion, not to mention add lots of citations. It’ll inflate to 8 pages and beyond rather easily. So length won’t be a problem.

Not to mention that I’m dating an english major, so she’ll help me edit when I finish.

Had some quality cuddles this morning. As in, more than one cuddle. How does one quantify a single cuddle? I do not know.

    NROL, Fat Loss I
    Day A, Workout V

Rest: 60 sec between exercises (-15 seconds)

    Alternating Sets
    BB Squat: 12, 12, 10 @ 145 lbs (+10 lbs)
    BB Bent-over Row: 12, 11, 8 @ 100 lbs (+10 lbs)

    Alternating Sets
Supine Hip Extension: 3×12 @ BW
    DB Push Press: 3×12 @ 35 lbs (+5 lbs)

    Alternating Sets
Rotational Lunge: 3×12 @ BW lbs
    Swiss Ball Crunch: 3×12 @ 15 lbs (+5 lbs)

Metabolic Overdrive: 3 rounds on spinner (1 minute hard, 2 minutes recovery)

I added only ten damn pounds to squat, yet it felt a lot heavier. My legs got enough rest over the weekend, so it can’t be fatigue. Guess I’ll just man up and push myself a little more. I stopped after the tenth rep because I just felt like my right hip was feeling weak. Don’t know how else to put it. I did warm up.

I will not add to push presses further. In theory, one would think the leg drive would make it “easier”. It does NOT.

Rotational lunges felt a hell of a lot better today. I will risk adding weight next time, probably a ten pound plate to hold in my hands.

Used a spinner for metabolic overdrive. That was yet another bad idea. That seat did NOT feel good on my ass. I held maybe 18 METs for the first thirty seconds, but could absolutely NOT maintain that kind of intensity for a full minute. I’ll laugh if I end up discovering that the treadmill’s the best option after all. We’ll see. I could try another elliptical. There’s also a rower. Not sure.

Maybe I could try sprinting. Though, I recall the last time I did that, my legs gave out REALLY quickly.

Plan for the rest of today is to finish my paper and do a quick powerpoint for my presenation. I want to write a quick paragraph or two on exercise prescription, then do my works cited page. Works Cited are always a pain in the ass. Then I’ll go over my resources and plug in stuff where necessary. Look up further shit if I need to. Add an intro, add a conclusion, and I’m done. Just gotta get through today and tomorrow and the semester is pretty much done in my head.
