Bench Press:
5 @ 45 lbs, 4 @ 95 lbs, 3 @ 135 lbs
5, 4, 4 @ 155 lbs
Deadlift
5 @ 135 lbs, 4 @ 225 lbs, 3 @ 255, 1 @ 285 lbs
3 @ 320 lbs (+5 lbs) (PR, new 3RM)
Barbell Row
3 @ 135 lbs
5, 5, 4 @ 160 lbs (+5 lbs)
difficulty: hard
Squats just felt heavy today. Had to dump the weight on the last set after attempting the fourth rep. I’m going to stay with this. I can’t be inept at making progress, I just need to be patient. After the next deload, whenever it happens, I’ll consider front squatting on Wednesdays. Everything else is progressing, no need to mess with what’s working.
Bench, second set, fourth rep. Felt a little.. unsteady. Locked out, didn’t go for fifth rep. Tend to base whether to go for the fifth rep, or a rep I haven’t gotten before, on how the previous rep felt. Last set, fourth rep. Felt solid, but a little too much grind for my taste. Added a rep over last workout, so I’m content.
Crossed my mind to add ten pounds to deadlift. Reminded myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Moreover, I need slow and steady progression to keep hitting lifts. I didn’t get the five today, but it was a very solid triple, and a new 3RM.
Need to plan my meals somehow. Need to eat more somehow.
If I need to eat more I just go ahead and stuff my face. 🙂 Ryn: Thank you, and ha ha.
