Kelly is sick.

So I shut down Kelly two nights ago like I’ve been doing for a while. Got up the next morning, and hit the power button. Nothing happens. I think, “What? Is the power off and I didn’t realize it?” Nope. I glance inside. There’s a green LED labeled power standby that is usually solid green, even when she’s off. It was flashing. I check the manual. It says NOTHING. I do a quick google, which reveals.. NOTHING.

I cringe. I know to troubleshoot I’m going to have to unplug everything from the motherboard until it’s just the PSU, the motherboard, and a power switch. I felt depressed at the prospect. I still feel the same way.

Random crap like this just irritates me to no end. THE COMPUTER WAS OFF. Fuck, I left Roxanne on for months at a time before shutting her down! Thank my lucky stars I was too lazy to move Roxanne off my desk. (Hence how I’m still posting.) After three months of being off, and a little more dust than usual, she fired up without a hitch. Ah, Windows XP, I’ve missed thee.

How the hell can something short when the power is off? IT MAKES NO SENSE. I spent good money on that power supply! If it IS the power supply, then it’ll be the second one to go fritz on me shortly after a build. Roxanne’s original power supply died within a year after I built her. Can’t remember exactly how long.

What really confuses me is that both these computers are on the same damn surge protector, and both were off. ..Ugh. Worst case scenario, the power supply and the motherboard need replacing. At most, 200 dollars. And this is the absolute worst time of year to be ordering things online and expect them fast. Newegg is good, but they’re still subject to the whims of the economy.

I.. should just get to the gym. I don’t want to deal with this. So much so that I’ve been thinking about playing Everquest2 to pass the time. Yes, I said it.
