I’m just waiting for the video card.

Kind of down. I’ve blown a lot of money on Roxanne and I don’t intend for her to simply not work. There are a lot of components involved, and with enough patience, I’ll figure out what the problem is. I’ve given myself a break for the rest of the night. I’ve done all I can, for now.

I just don’t understand why the fans don’t spin. That’s what I was expecting would happen. What could I have forgotten to plug in? There’s clearly power going through, as all the LED lights flash once. I have a device that can check current, but I’m not sure where to check it, except for at the metal tips of the molexes.

Hmm. I could check that. But what if there is current? What if there isn’t? I’m not even sure what I’m looking for.

I knew building a computer wouldn’t be easy. I knew it would take me a long time; I’ve spent at least three hours assembling, so far. My greatest fear was flipping the switch and nothing happening. I’m not quite at that level of desperation, but I’m awfully close.

Red wire is positive. Red wire is positive.

In searching for help, I ran across this rather odd link:

Goddamn. *laughs*

lol, the really cheap part is true 😉 I’d be frustrated too. This is just part of the reason I won’t build my own computer.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the hardest to figure out. Did you check the polarity of your fan leads? Maybe you got the plug upside down.

Just skimming through that page, “The experience was about as life threatening as a squirrel urinating on my lawn” caught my eye.

Giant douche was fucking hilarious. Cn’t you just plug in an older PCI video card to see if the thing completes POST?

Just to let you know, Monday is a holiday so I wouldn’t expect any mail that day. :
