Happy times.
So yeah, didn’t I say something about Everquest and Golden Girls? It’s a mighty good combination, I must say. Travel time and killing weak things in Everquest can get tedious, so having something in the background to listen to works nicely. I like the soundtrack, stupid as that sounds, but I tend to have my headphones off if I’m questing with Candi.
Have I mentioned she’s the reason I got into it? She got into it because her friend Kristen’s been playing it for four years and told her to play with her. Rather handy because she and the guild she belongs to is .. rich? I can’t fathom crafting on your own without a decent guild.
Anyway, as I’m assuming what happens with everybody who plays, I’ve gotten rather ADD with quests. I’ve actually been leveling up too fast. My bruiser is already level 30. I have a bunch of old quests that I wanted to do, but never got around to. So as I go into new areas, I end up having to delete old quests. I find that funny. In a way, I might be leveling faster if I wasn’t trying to do lower-level quests before they disappear.
I’ve just been really content. My new bed is so freaking awesome. I love crawling into it at night and sinking into it. So freaking comfortable. And when it gets cool enough, I pull the comforter up. Which is mmmm warm and comfy. I like having Candi around so much, though she doesn’t seem to see it. Going out and doing stuff is great – now and then. But I feel most content when we just sit around doing “nothing”. It makes me feel relaxed. We just relax and play Everquest while watching Golden Girls. I don’t know, seems like an obviously good time to me.
I closed on Saturday for the first time. Funny how I’ve managed to avoid that, being mostly an openning manager. There were absolutely no surprises. While an entirely different job, I did open and close at Panera regularly. I’m smart enough to figure out shortcuts. Night crew just seems to have this smug attitude and generally doesn’t like me. I’ve always found it puzzling how whenever I stay later, I end up seeing them sitting around doing nothing. There’s always something to be done. If everything is cleaned and stocked and all that crap, that’s fine. If you do your job, you deserve to relax. But I just don’t see the proactiveness and intelligence that day crew has. If closing is oh-so-hard, then why don’t you work oh-so-hard? I’ve come to the conclusion that they want to take the weenie way out, and claim oh, you don’t understand. I’m not an idiot, I know shit needs to get done, and I know customers can come out of nowhere. But that doesn’t give you an excuse to sit down when your work area needs to be swept and wiped down.
Whatever. Like I said, most of night crew doesn’t like me. But you better believe that if I’m closing manager, we’re getting out on time. That’ll earn their respect. Well, maybe not – I’ve always said I’m someone you either like or dislike. They don’t understand my humor. And I likewise don’t understand their humor. Funny how that happens. Or maybe it’s how they perceive me as being so by-the-book, and not understanding how night crew has to cheat. I almost want to say that the reason I’m so by-the-book now is because of my tendency to know how to cheat. I work days, so I have to put on a show, just in case someone higher-up stops by.
As for right now, I just ate dinner. I told Candi I’d be by. She’s pointed out that I haven’t been to her house in a while. Quite right. I figure a day off from everquest will increase my adventure vitality XP bonus. : D I kind of want to clean my room a little. No rearranging, just pick stuff up off the floor and give it a quick vacuum. That way I’ll feel .. relaxed when I come back into my room and know there’s nothing I need to do. If that makes any sense. Kind of like how I’ve taken to making my bed lately. Have I mentioned that I love my bed? Love, love.
Have I mentioned it’s not a spring-coil, it’s actually memory foam? Not quite temperpedic, nor even the bobopedic. I think the Naturally Bob’s that I got is memory foam with a layer of latex on top. Something about it being a good transition between spring-coil and memory foam. Don’t know about anything about that, I just picked the mattress that felt the most comfortable. So when I say “sink into the mattress”, you can feel your ass sink in as the foam comforms to your ass, while there’s still lower back support. Which is freaking awesome.
I love my mattress.
I should get to cleaning! I told Candi I’d be by before 9. Oh, I should put my paycheck in the bank. I’ll try to remember that.
Weeeee.
im assuming that everquest is a lot like world of warcraft. with WOW they keep making it easier to level up. you get rested XP for not logging in, but that seems a little counter productive.

a luscious bed is a major component of quality life

Everquest sounds fun… is it free? I put a memory foam mattress pad on my bed here at school, and i’m in love, also.
