Fucking Lab.
I reckon I’m rather pissy. I’ve stated that I’ve hated my A&P lab. My lecturer rules. My lab teacher sucks big hairy donkey balls. Her style of teaching, if you can call it that, is not conducive towards a Timmy Learning Experience. Since day one, I’ve felt like, “What the hell is going on?” every day I’m in there.
Cat dissection is going better than expected. As in, I didn’t vomit and leave the room. I had a dissection kit, so it was used. There was a guy that hates cats, so he was cutting it up. The teach was pointing out muscle separation. “Yeah, you see that?” No, I don’t see that. I don’t see anything. Lick my balls, bitch.
I like a nice structured lab. Give me instructions numbered one to ten, be specific, and fucking do it along with us. How the hell are you supposed to dissect a cat if you don’t know what a properly dissected cat looks like? You call this fucking learning? Every day in lab feels like, “What does this have to do with anything?” Completely disconnected and disjointed.
What really pisses me off is that it’s one grade. What the fuck is that about? I could possibly ace the lecture. That’s an A. It should show up as an A on a transcript. But that fucking lab is going to hold me down. If I get a C or lower because of that fucking lab, and I’m going to be mad beyond all hell.
I’m sure you’ll understand if I’ve lost my appetite.
I also have to think of a topic for a research paper by the end of one of my classes today. Submit it for approval? I still don’t understand what we’re supposed to do. What the fuck, man.
I think I’ll get some words in before yoga.
My roommate in grad school was a Physical Therapy major. She had to dissect a cadaver — all she ate that entire summer was watermelon.

RYN: Actually, in the Paleo age food was very plentiful. So plentiful that people actually expended less energy in gathering it and suffered less from disease than when people relied on agriculture (grains) for the bulk of their diet. In colder climates, it was clear that people needed to rely more on fat and protein based sources of energy for at least part of the year. The body is well-equipped to do this. In fact, studies have shown that the brain and heart actually *prefer* ketones for fuel. And any endurance athlete has to be good at burning fat for fuel, because they run out of glycogen fairly early in a workout. I think in the end though, you do what works for *your* body. Mine is a little *too* efficient at processing carbs. I prefer to rely more on fat and to a lesser degree, protein for my fuel needs whenever possible.
