Was running late this morning because I was talking to Jessica Emsley. Hi, Jessica Emsley!

Set some new records today. Woo. Conservatively added 2.5 to my chin-up best, with the expectation that I’ll do a single chin with a 45 plate attached to me next week. That single went up pretty slow, but so did my 40 lb single. As long as I keep struggling, I should get it next week.

Presses are progressing. I’m oh-so-close to pressing 95 for 6 reps, which was my 1-rep best when I started this phase. Not bad, if you ask me.

I still wonder what kind of a difference I can make this winter. I should do better, with the knowledge I was on the wrong routine last winter. I should do better, knowing I need to eat more. Though, I still wonder where exact eating more gets me. Lean body mass synthesis can only happen so much at a time. (I ran into one of my profs from two falls ago, and he said I look fatter – my face has filled out. Ha ha. Putting on thirty pounds will do that.) And let’s face it: I don’t think I have genetics in my favor.

As I’ve said, I just have to find what works for me.

I don’t even want a six-pack. Anybody that reads my logs should be able to figure that out fast. I just want to look like I lift. A boy can try.
