Exerbabble for 4-7-6

As I wrote previously, I had my Colon Blow™ All-Bran for breakfast, with some Orange Jews. Went through me, just like yesterday. There’s something to be said for being aware of regular bodily functions that we may otherwise be ignorant of. Ate some oatmeal, went to the café to do some homework before class. Colleen declined having her picture taken. Ashley said she’s not camera-shy, but pictures of her don’t show up well. Yeah, today is DITL. I could have gotten a better shot of her, but I was short on time. Damn it. I’d say I aced the Lifetime Wellness test.

Went to work out.

    Pull-up: 6, 6, 6, 5 @ BW
    Arnold Press: 10, 10, 7 @ 25 lbs
    Overhead Squat: 5×5 @ 55 lbs
    Calf Raise: 12, 12, 9 @ 280 lbs
    Back Extension: 4×6 @ 25 lbs
    Crunches: 3×16 @ bodyweight
    Bent-over Rows: 3×9 @ 70 lbs
    BB Decline Press: 3×8 @ 95 lbs

As a verbal summary, I’d say my workout went well. I decided beforehand what my set/reps would be. I was jerking a little bit towards the end of my pull-ups. I’ll smooth that out next time; I’ll probably aim for 3×8 next time, then 4×7 after that. I don’t feel like explaining the intimate logic.

I took ten pound dumbbells to watch the movement of the Arnold Press in the mirror. See what perfect form is. I wanted to stop if my form faltered at all. Grabbed the 25 lb dumbbells (down from 30 lbs last time) and went to work. I figured I wouldn’t finish the set, but I was curious how far I’d get.

Someone else was doing calf raises on the contraption with a ton of shoulder padding (I have bony shoulders), so I decided to do my overhead squats first. I was curious how my upper body would hold up with a ten-pound increase. As I suspected, it wasn’t the weight that was the problem. In fact, the weight helped me hold form a little easier. Strength isn’t so much my problem as it is flexibility. I need to just keep at it. I lost form a little in the first set, and as the sets went on, I went progressively slower so I didn’t twist as much. I felt something in my upper back working. Not in a bad way, just in that, “Oh! New muscle I haven’t felt before!” I like that!

I was curious how I’d pull off doing back extensions at a weight 2.5 times heavier than I’m used to. I went slow and deliberately. I felt just fine and dandy. Did crunches++. *smirks* I remember not too long ago when I couldn’t even get off the floor. I know I take sexy pictures, but my abs aren’t that strong. Not in my opinion. *shrugs* At least, they used to be uberweak.

I have a feeling I may have to start using an olympic bar to load up weight when I do bent-over rows, rather than the preloaded barbells. What the hell would be the point of taking a 90 lb barbell off the rack? I think it goes up to 100 lbs, the straight bars. That’s right, you damn straight I could pick it up.

(EZ-Curl bars perplex me.)

As much as blood was going to my head on the decline bench, I felt like I was able to breath much deeper. Finished the set without struggling, and with the feeling like my pecs got hit.

I didn’t think to look at the time at all, but it felt like it went really fast. Showered, and went outside to discover rain. Caught me slightly offguard. Went to the café to eat. Cheaper than the diner? Heh. Might as well get my fill before the semester ends. Passed Colleen on her way to pee. Ate with her and Angie before they left. Heh. I gave her a pouty look before she vacated. *smirks* Yeah, I’m pitiful. It’s so funny when she stares at me with an odd look. She has nice eyes.

Um. I’m tuggified? It’s a boring Friday night. I have no idea what to do with myself, let alone for this weekend.

My hamstrings are still REALLY sore. Yes, I was careful about not doing anything to exercise them today. I guess that’s how effective good stiff-legged deadlifts are. ..Didn’t help I did hamstring curls afterwards, but I doubt that was what did it. I just hope they’re good to go in two days. They will. Grawr.

OH. I’d gotten lazy with weighing myself when I noticed almost no change day-to-day. Last time I weighed, I was within that same range. Today, I was 138.8. I haven’t seen 138 on the scale yet! Woo! Some of that has to be musskull! *smirks* At least an iota? My intestines have been cleaned, and I didn’t binge on water this morning. Can I make it to 140 soon? I vaguely remember my starting weight being around 131 or 132. I’ve been hovering around 136 lately, and I haven’t held at 137 withoout dropping back down.

..I’m thirsty. I think I’ll have some cranberry cider. I think my cold is receding. What did I say? Wouldn’t last long. I wonder if the ecinacea I had this morning had anything to do with it. …Nah. Or the Vitamin E. Nah. But I find it curious that I got a cold during the ONE span I run out of orange jews. Seriously. I drink orange jews nearly daily, but I ran out over the weekend. And then BAM, I get a cold.

Oh. Mailage. County says I can take honors courses. Just one problem there. All of the courses offered are kind of below me. Honors intro to philosophy? Please. I’ve taken Metaphysics. (I would have passed if it wasn’t the semester I imploded.) A fifth academic class? I’ll probably just take my 14 credits and coast.

I agree with you about the OJ. I used to tout it as a cure-all to my kids when they started sniffling…

Yay Timmy. You have no idea how much progress one day makes, keep up the awesome work.

I read pineapple juice is better for colds. Doesn’t give you heartburn.
