Exerbabble for 4-4-6
Slept well. Had my oatmeal for breakfast. Did my rounds. Left around 7 – 7:30. I wasn’t too specific on the time, just on getting out.
Today’s workout:
- Arnold Presses: 6, 6, 4, 3 @ 30 lb DB
Standing Calf Raise: 10, 10, 8 @ 300 lbs
Overhead Squat: 4×6 @ 45 lbs
Front Squat: 3×8 @ 95 lbs
Seated Calf Raise: 10, 10, 8 @ 80 lbs (? + 50 lbs)
Decline Press: 3×8 @ 85 lbs
Side-bends: 2×12 @ 10 lbs
I feel good.
I think it’s cool that I can lift a 30 lb dumbbell over my head. That’s just dead weight. I suppose that means I can curl 30 lbs, as you have to curl it into position. *smirks* In two days, I may drop to 25 and do more reps. Or just stick with 30 lbs for now, maybe aim for 5×5 next time, rather than 4×6.
The overhead squat felt better than it did two months ago. Or whenever it is I played with it. My overhead stability was better, though I will keep at it until I get full range of motion. The lower I go, it’s not my legs that give out, it’s my arms. Strange.
I will have to read up on front squats. I’ve seen pictures where the hands are bend really way backward supporting the bar, and other times I read that you put it on your deltoids. Either way, it was definitely a different center of gravity than front squats. Something else to learn. I’ll probably try 115 lbs next time.
I understand that you can typically decline press more than bench press. Nonetheless, I decided to scale back to 85 lbs so I could get a better feel of the movement. Besides, it’s nice to really feel in control of the weight. “Wow, I can move 85 lbs!” And stuff.
I mentally remembered my intentions for tomorrow, and did side-bends. *purrs* If you’re going to split, might as well make the most of each day.
I showered and laid stretched out in the sauna for a little bit. Mmmm. Very nice. I’m wearing my “Chicks think I look good in pink” shirt. I drove across the street to CCM and got a good parking spot. I ate my yogurt. Then a pb&j. Then a banana while walking here. I’ll hit the water fountain before I leave for class, but I’ll otherwise be fine.
I think I had homework. Did I? I forget.

But did you stretch out naked in the sauna? My husband says that everyone at our Y is naked in there. All I can think about that is, “Someone’s walking away with crabs.”

For my physiology experiment, I have to curl 30 lbs, 2 sets, 10 reps each. Holy shit that’s HARD lmao. It took me like 20 minutes to do one set and I probably looked like a crazy person – grunting and red faced!!
