Exerbabble for 4-21-6

Penis!

Nothing like starting off an entry with a wang.

Did a small calculation in class. If my bodyfat percentage is actually 10%, then my lean body mass (140-14) is 126 lbs. Now, keep in mind, my starting weight was around 130. I wouldn’t doubt that my bodyfat percentage has gone down in the past few months. I bet the reason I wasn’t gaining weight was because I was simultaneously losing fat. Relatively speaking. Ten pounds. I’ve gained ten pounds. Odds are nine to ten of that are muscle. (Lose fat as well, and it balances out.)

Makes me wonder how all that muscle is distributed. Hell, maybe my bones have gotten stronger from all the activity (and milk). That can make a difference. *looks at his ass* Nah, I have yet to really push my ass muscles.

Today’s workout:

    Pull-up: 8, 8, 5 @ bodyweight
    Arnold Press: 6, 6, 6, 4 @ 30 lbs
    RDL: 6, 6, 3 @ 155 lbs
    Crunches: 3×13 @ 2 kg
    Standing Calf Raises: 9, 8, 7 @ 320 lbs
    Bent-over Row: 3×10 @ 70 lbs
    BB Incline Press: 3×8 @ 75 lbs
    Back Extension/Leg Raises 3×9 @ 25 lbs/BW

Used an alternating grip again doing pull-ups. Ah! I’m seeing progress!

I decided not to cheat on my breathing during Arnold Presses. If I’m going to do it, I’m going to do it right, and hold form. One less than five days ago, but so be it.

I didn’t hit failure during Romanian Deadlifts. I used the rack opposite that I usually use. The rack is a little higher on this one, which tweaks me out. I’m short, so I have to lift the weight up with my calves to get it off the rack. Other one, I can just walk forward and bam, weight is racked. I know you can just deadlift from the floor, but I’m simply not comfortable doing that yet. I stopped mid-set because I didn’t trust my grip. It shouldn’t be that that the hardest part of the set is setting the weight down! Getting it back on the rack means using my calves and shrugging a little. I’ll keep this in mind next time.

My ass felt exhausted, and said, “Don’t even THINK about doing overhead squats.” I immediately began thinking about how I could periodize the intensity of each exercise so the volume isn’t so grand. I’m thinking I’ll periodize by antagonist movements, rather than push/pull. I mean. I’d have a max effort for rows and benching, rather than for rows and pull-ups. Better to hit the triceps and biceps consistently, rather than stack up max efforts on either.

..I know what I mean.

Crunches were crunch-like.

I’m glad I’ve added an extra breath’s worth to the top of the calf raises. I actually felt a little tired afterwards. Woo.

I rowed. It was row-like.

I inclined a weight I was comfortable with, as I haven’t done an barbell incline press since high school. I’m thinking of what other pressing exercises I could do. I’m already plotting what exercises I want to do for my next workout routine. There aren’t that many major ones left to master. Next routine will see good mornings, front squats. I know it’s isolation, but I want to play with reverse flies to strengthen my back. Maybe superset curls and extensions, or maybe lateral raises with pull-overs. Gotta keep it interesting.

For fun, I again supersetted leg raises with back extensions. That’s good shit if you want to break a sweat. Funny thing about supersetting antagonist muscles. The act of exercising an agnonist causes the antagnoist to relax. Supposely, it makes it recover faster. Thus how you can tear through two exercises without much rest, with only your internal energy level being the limiting factor.

That, and you gotta have a strong core. :: beats his abs :: I’d beat my back, but uh, kind of awkward to do. Timmy got back.

I ate a sandwich in the café, as I usually do. I went up to the green chair, and continued my letter to Heatherface. I went over to the 1337 lab, unsure of when it would close. (It closed at 3 PM.) So I went to the library. Maybe I’ll try doing coding at home. Is it possible? We’ll see!

Paper says the Devils-Rangers game tomorrow will be broadcast on NBC. Devils better hand the Rangers their pansy asses. I’ve seen the Devils lose to the Penguins when Jagr was in a full-body cast (or whatever he was wearing), so I know it’s possible. The Devils aren’t as deep as they’ve been in years past. I’m not expecting them to get past the second or third round. I’m always hopeful, no? But the Rangers, for the Devils this is the best match-up possible.

Assuming my mom is around tonight and we’re still going out to eat, I’ll push for Fatburger. Grawr. I loves me my Fatburger.
