Oh god, the squat rack curlers. I’m not sure what annoys me more, the guy with smaller arms than me curling, or the guy putting on a whole bunch of tens, doing a strip set, and then putting all the tens where the 35’s are supposed to go. Is there some unwritten code to be an asshole if you curl in the squat rack? If you’re going to curl in the squat rack, at least PROPERLY RACK YOUR PLATES.
I’m more and more convinced lifting is good for you, while yoga is bad for you. We’re doing the hip joint in kinesiology, so our prof showed us a bunch of bodyweight stretches/strength exercises for each action. And go figure, Thursday and Friday my lower back felt a little odd. I really should just buy Magnificent Mobility, see what it has to say, and give it to my prof. I also got flamed on Wednesday because I said I didn’t buy into “knees shouldn’t go over the toes! OMG!” Okay, I was partially being contrary, because it’s amazing how herd mentality goes.
When I was doing presses, there was a guy next to me curling. I was amused that I was overhead pressing 35 lbs, while he was curling 35 lbs for a fair amount of reps. Man, did I ever look that weenie? Do some rows and pull-ups, kid. Of course, I didn’t say anything.
I know better than to hit the gym in the middle of the day. As for me, I did just great today. This has to be the first time I’ve ever completed a set/rep for chin-ups. Oh, I didn’t annotate my warm-ups. It gets so messy to write everything down. 3 @ 20 lbs, and some external rotations.
Ah, glute-ham raises. I moved the foot-thingie up higher so my lower leg would be more horizontal. Suddenly, I found myself able to do glute-ham raises. It almost felt like I wasn’t doing them right, because I was struggling so much the last time. I didn’t even use a push-off the floor. Still, my body isn’t the right size for the damn apparatus. My thighs slip slightly, bringing the fulcrum away from the knee slightly. If I move it closer one more notch, the pad would be on my kneecap – too close. I’ll continue to experiment.
Adjustments: RDL’s to 215. One rep to presses and chins.
Very excited about my next workout. I’ll do 3/1/3/1/3/1/8 for squats, attempting to squat my current PR of 225 3 times. Get depth, damn it. Set/rep for benchs and rows will be 5×5. I’ll probably want to take a nap afterwards, ha ha. Don’t know whether I’ll do it Monday or Tuesday, as I have jury duty on Monday. I really wouldn’t mind getting up early in the morning to do it.
i’ve been wanting to try the rock crystal d.o. how do you keep your natural b.o. from being offensive without using deoderant? … well, from your entries, i would guess you are in college, so you’re probably over 18 or a total genius lol. my guess is 24-ish.

showering every other day is alright. washing hair every day isn’t good for it anyway because detergents in shampoo. and 23 isn’t a bad age. you’re very mature for 23. im not much older than you at 25, so dont tell me what’s “old” haha 🙂 well, im off to work. 🙁 have to work on my nights off cuz of BCR in daytona grrr. c ya later
