That took an hour. I wish I was kidding. Though, I was ten minutes late. Oops?
It’s strange. The weights always feel heavier in that room. *shrugs* Maybe it’s because I’m more relaxed when I’m by myself, and can give myself a more standardized rest period without feeling like a dork.
Teach asked about my weight consistency. I prefer keeping the weight the same, as I’m progressing right now, so I can track my progress easier. If my weights are all over the place, I wouldn’t be sure of what my progress was. Plus, the whole doing your last set with higher weight – I’m tired by then! I’d rather just do the higher weight all the way through. *nods*
Though, I may start doing some sort of pyramid set scheme for my squats. No, seriously. Fatigue is less of an issue. That’s a large amount of weight I’m using! I’m not sure about percentages, but it would look something like 8 x 135 lbs, 6 x 155 lbs, 4 x 165 lbs, 6 x 155 lbs, 8 x 135 lbs. Probably will want to research percentages of theoretical one rep max to guage what my weights should be.
If you think teach suggested pyramid set schemes, you’re out of your mind. I picked that up on my own.
Hit 3×8 on the bench press. I think that means I have to increase weight. *groans* Heh. I just get annoyed because racking 90 lbs means three plates on each side, whereas 95 pounds would be just one plate on each side. I could skip 90 and aim to 3×6 @ 95 lbs next time. Also will be increasing my overhead press. No way I’m skipping poundage there, unfortunately.
When I do my split this weekend, I think I’ll complete each side of the split. There’s two directions I haven’t bothered hitting. Down pull, and down push, which translates into upright rows, and .. What the hell is the name of that. Duh. Dips.
Just a thought.
My lats were still sore this morning. Strange. Must have been the dips I did on Saturday. I only did ten, freeweight, with my legs up on the chair.
I’ll do some sit-ups or something when I get home. I like my abs.
I don’t get it either. Like, when I play my sax at home I sound bad but at school I sound amazing. Weird stuff, huh?
