Exerbabble for 2-22-6

I had a plan last night which I promptly ignored.

Except, that was a good thing. The things I had planned didn’t need to be done, but would have made me feel better if I had. Instead, I enjoyed my evening. Which is the entire point of this exercise. If I find something better to do, do it.

Teach wanted us to learn dumbbell exercises today. Okay, teach! He’ll give us a different set of stuff on Monday, and then next week he’ll have us pick from all the exercises and form a “routine”. I’ll probably end up doing what I normally do anyway.

    DB Bench Press: 8 @ 30 lbs
    Flies: 8 @ 15 lbs
    DB Row: 8 @ 30 lbs
    DB Shrug: 8 @ 45 lbs
    DB Overhead Press: 8 @ 25 lbs
    DB Front Raise: 8 @ 12.5 lbs
    DB Curl: 8 @ 25 lbs
DB Tricep Extension: 8 @ 25 lbs (Behind the back)
    BB Wrist Curl/reverse: 8 @ 15 lbs
    DB Squat: 8 @ 45 lbs
    Tuck-Ups: 8 @ bodyweight

Afterwards, I did two other things to make myself feel complete:

    Back Squat: 8, 6, 6 @ 115 lbs
    Overhead Press: 7, 6 @ 65 lbs

I felt my glutes kick in more towards the bottom of the squat, and that made me think I might hit failure on the next rep, so I stopped short. That’s still the high end of my weight for squats. Just twenty more pounds and I’ll be squatting my bodyweight.

Teach spotted me for overhead press, giving suggests for hand position, and emphasising range of motion. Indeed. Overhead Presses are so freaking hard to get that full range of motion. All the way up, all the way down to the chest, then back up again. I want to keep the weight high, right where it is, but I can’t do too many reps. I may favor 8 sets of 3 or 4 next time I work out. I have to train my body to get that full range of motion!

What was I going to say?

I exchanged my workout clothes for books. This time of morning there’s always people roaming for spots. You can tell when you’re being followed. I have to tell people, “I’m not leaving!”

Hunger. But I felt like writing. So I am. Soup. And probably a carton of milk to ensure protein. And because I love milk. Mmm. I hope they have whole milk. Did you know kids these days aren’t getting enough fat from milk due to the influx of skim? Kids need fat in their diet! Oh, nevermind. Just don’t feed kids soy, that shrinks testicles.

*hefts his Boys*

(Yeah, it’s probably an exaggeration, but I just don’t trust soy, period.)

I think I know what a new workout might look like. Overhead Squat, back squat, calf raises, deadlift, shrugs. Then decline bench press, pull-ups, incline bench press, rows, and sit-ups. Grawr. At least for my spare time, it would be fun? Heh.

Whatever. Imma go eat now. Do spanish, relax, read, write, read child psych, and then go home.

i’ve always heard kids should drink whole milk til they are 5 or 6, but im shocked about soy! I’m a soymilk fan myself, cant drink cow.. yuck. But due to your advice I’ll keep it far from my future baby boy if he ever exists.

I drink skim milk, have for all years of my life. Is that a bad thing?

RYN: Growing is…fun. I guess.
