Cold! Very cold. I like cold. Gave me incentive to get started and raise my body temperature. Deadlifts hurt my hands. Not a muscle thing, just my skin. My skin! Still a little tender, and a little warm.
Felt good to lift heavy, but I’m glad I decided against doing just singles. Not sure whether to add five or ten pounds next time. Maybe ten, I know I have the reserve strength.
Basically matched my upper body stuff without meaning to. Was able to finish the last set of DB lateral raises without pausing.
Short on time, and more interested in recovery, didn’t feel like doing cardio. So I didn’t.
On my way out, ran into Marissa. Yay! I like running into Marissa. I want to hang out with her, but I’m not sure what that would entail. I met her mom. I said, “So you’re the one that gave birth to her? Good job.” Her mom said she’s seen me around. I recall that I’ve been to Marissa’s house once. I could find the entry if I wanted.
Marissa’s one of those cool people you meet and you wonder what they’ll be doing in a few years. She said she’s stayed out of trouble in college. No drugs, no alcohol, hasn’t even kissed a boy. I had given her fair warning regarding college boys, though I know her initiative came from within. She’s never had anything bad happen to her, and I hope it stays that way.
Anyway, lifting. I’m hoping the semester stress is over. For real this time. I have missed so many workouts these past two months. While recovery is awesome, you can’t grow without first lifting inanimate objects! I hope to do this more over break.
