Man, I needed this today. I was so tired yesterday, and I had a hunch I just needed to hit the gym. Stress? You betcha. Hitting the gym is one of the things that keeps me sane.
I hate doing straight sets for deadlifts. So I didn’t. Lifting need not be that complicated. Form was really good today. See, when I’m running against a clock with rest periods, my form drops off dramatically. I said “Fuck it” and waited until I felt like I was ready for the next set. I wasn’t shrugging the weight at the top, but I was definitely making sure my traps were tight and not slacking.
Definitely ready to increase weight for shoulder presses. I stayed at 25 lbs today to make SURE I could handle a weight increase.
Tested increasing the intensity on the treadmill, just seeing what I can do without my heartrate going over 160 BPM. My pace isn’t even a jog, and my heartrate is up. Time will tell.
I’ve been asked here and there how long I spend in the gym. Today was about an hour of lifting, and then 40 minutes on the treadmill. You know, five minutes to gradually raise my heartrate. Not that it was low from lifting, I just know it’s better to take your time. And then about five minutes to cool down and let my heartrate slowly lower. I mean, I’m an insane person. I don’t know anybody else, personally, that hits the gym for such a long time. Better keep eating.
Getting off a treadmill makes me feel dizzy, the same way I feel when I get off an elevator. Like I’m still moving. Can’t blame it on lack of a cool-down, I swear.
3 PM already? My plan was to start my research paper today. I won’t last six hours straight, that’s for sure. Playing Warriors Orochi really helped me relax last night. I think I’ll stop by Gaming Club, as I know Victoria will drop by after her class. I’ll let myself hit some social and affection needs, but I won’t stay too long. Time is against me.
