Today’s workout:

    NROL, Hypertrophy I
    Day B, Workout XII

    Set/rep: 3×15
    Rest: 30 seconds

    BB Back Squat:
    3 @ 45 lbs
    3×15 @ 105 lbs (+5 lbs)

    BB Deadlift w/Shrug: 15, 15, 9 @ 135 lbs (+ reps!)

    Alternating Sets:
    DB Bulgarian Split Squat: 3×15 @ BW (+3 reps!)
    DB Step-up: 3×15 @ BW (+3 reps!)

    Reverse Crunch: 3×15 @ BW Rest: 60 seconds

    (Usual stretching.)

Oh god. At least this workout is kind of short.

Massive lactic acid during the last set of squats. Yet, somehow, I could deal with it better today. I grinded through it, and really held my form.

Deadlifts went better. I didn’t even notice in my annotations that I didn’t get the second set for 15 last time. But I got it today without a problem. I think the drop-off in the last set is sheer ATP depletion. Seriously. I just can’t do anything else.

And then there’s the unilateral stuff on this day. Oh god. If my right leg is forward during BSS, I get to get really bad lactic acid burn in my rear leg. IT HURTS. Ha ha. Last set of bulgarian split suqats, last leg, left leg forward. I hit failure on the sixth rep. I’m serious. My leg just gave out. I was doing this in a spot where I could grab something in front of me to steady myself, and I just forced myself to finish the repetitions to fifteen. OW, THAT HURT. Took a while for me to catch my break afterwards.

People that think lifting is about not breaking a sweat and getting fat have no idea how intense it is.

Officially halfway through Hypertrophy I. Wow. Went fast.

ryn: I need to learn that too. Though there is a huge difference between emotional and physical satisfaction. I didn’t mind this because I totally orgasmed in an emotional way.
