Today’s workout:
- HGM Phase VI: “Washboard Worthy”, Day B, Workout IV
Abdominal Circuit:
Incline Reverse Crunch: 3×12 @ BW
45-degree Side-Bend: 3×12 @ 10 lbs
Cable Crunch: 3×12 @ 110 lbs
Bridge: 3×45 sec @ BW
BB Split Squat/Overhead Press: 10, 8, 8 @ 45 lbs
Superset:
Horizontal Pull-up: 10, 9, 8 @ BW
BB Incline Press: 11, 10, 8 @ 85 lbs
DB Lunge w/alternating curl: 10, 9, 8 @ 25 lbs (+10 lbs)
current bodyweight: 159.8 lbs (+.2 lbs; weekly average of 159.4 lbs)
This went better. I changed my bridge annotation to 45 seconds. I can’t be bothered to crane my neck up at the clock to see when I should stop, so I just do a twenty-breath count, which seems to be around 45 seconds. Maybe more, maybe less, whatever, it’s more then 30 seconds.
My solution to the split squat/overhead press problem was to press every second rep. This means my overhead reps match my individual leg rep count. Since I’m holding the bar in a front-squat stance, this means my upper body has to endure for a while.
Both smith machines were in use (oh daRn), so I used one of the free squat racks for horizontal pull-ups. I suspected I’d have problems adding reps. My inclines will come along, as they always do.
For lunges w/curls, I did the same thing as I did for .. Yeah. My curl rep count matches my lunge rep count, per leg. Curling was never my strong point, so I found myself struggling as the reps went on. I want to make sure I can handle 30 lbs when I move to it.
Adjustments: …None. I think I got it right.
