Cardio for 4-8-9
Button and I watched Willow last night. I know how things stick in my head when I watch a movie with someone and they make silly jokes. I kept hearing Cliff saying, “Everything will be fine once we get to Tir Asleen!” So, for my part, I made Lord of the Rings references. Or hell, the movie spoofs itself, “My powers have grown since last we met, Raziel.”
She’s going to Montreal over the weekend.
- 5-minute warm-up then:
8 minute jog followed by two minute walk x4
Continued fast walk
5-minute cool-down
Progress is motivating. I had to remind myself not to push myself too far. Last intervals were only 3 and 5 minute jogs. The next week in couch-to-5K had something to do with 8 minute jogs. So, that was my marker.
Goal was to do 3 eight minute jogs, which would take around 30 minutes. I ended up doing a fourth interval. I considered a fifth, but my lungs were starting to take a beating during that fourth interval. I’m starting to learn how my body reacts as I get fatigued. I did a good job of pacing my breathing. My forearms were dripping with sweat! What amazes me is how quickly I cool down, leaving my skin dry while I’m still wearing a soaked wife-beater.
Checking the couch-to-5k page now, it’s clear I blew the 8-minute interval session out of the water, as it’s only mean to have two intervals. Suits me. I’ll probably just continue doing slightly longer intervals rather than trying to do one long run. I can do distance jogs in Sunday. :: nods decisively :: Considering the progression, I’m pretty much on target. Especially since I’m only training my aerobic systems twice a week. Not bad.
I’m feeling … it’s not uneasy. More like a let-down. I tried to let myself have acknowledgement of accomplishment after finishing my paper and research last week. But that was last week. As always, it’s as if I need to have my eyes focused on another goal. What have I done for myself lately? I have my second exam next week – that’ll give me something to mull over. My CPR card came in. I need to scan it for my First Aid class, and show it to the secretary of the department.
I’ve been playing through Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. Considered one of the bastard children of the series, I honestly like it. Not to mention the freaking AWESOME soundtrack. I’d like to hear a metal band cover this soundtrack.
I love Willow the book, but the movie just isn’t the same. Oh, the book. So good.I also LOVE Mystic Quest. So much.
