Cardio for 4-29-9
Have I mentioned how sweaty I get when I drum playing Rock Band? Winter, I could open a window. I was drumming at Erik’s yesterday and I was freaking SOAKED. I play almost exclusively on hard. I can’t play every song yet. Since Candi and I played the Endless Setlist on medium, there’s really no point in playing any song on medium. We’ve graduated. I’ve also gotten better at guitar, but she’s still better than me.
But seriously. I’ll need to bring a towel or something next time so I can wipe my sweat up. At least I was freshly showered. Ha ha. I remember back when Push It felt like a fast song. It is fast, it’s just simple. It feels like a good warm-up song now.
- 5-minute warm-up then:
2 mile jog @ 4.1 mph 3% incline ~30 minutes
5-minute cool-down
Though I didn’t have the incline set last time I cardioed on Wednesday, I decided to use an incline anyway. Because. Because life is not a flat surface! I felt a little… taxed during the first ten minutes. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to keep up the pace and finish. Based on Couch-to-5K, I should be at a level of jogging two miles straight. Kind of intimidating to me, as that’s around 30 minutes straight. Well, given the speed I go at.
Somewhere in the middle, I must have hit steady state, because I felt okay. Not awesome. Just. Okay. I shifted my breathing from 4:3 to 4:2 and then 3:2. But I was never in danger of losing my breath.
I still have a couple weeks before I get up to a 3 mile level. I was definitely starting to feel fatigued towards the end. I hope I can get some good ground jogs in Friday and Sunday. If I can get in some more two mile jogs – or even a mile and a half jogs, I’ll be content. Now that I’m phasing out intervals and going for straight distance, it’s rather intimidating. I get afraid I won’t be able to make it. Hence why I mentally tell myself to do what I can.
And, needless to say, I was soaked in sweat afterwards. Now I see why people buy those expensive 20 dollar wife-beaters that supposedly pull sweat away from your body without getting wet themselves. So to speak.
I’d been doing chin-ups on Wednesdays to maintain my chin-up endurance capability. But, much to my surprise, my lats feel ever so slightly sore today. Which is an awesome thing. Fat Loss II has more pulls than push, and after the RDL rows in Workout B, I typically have nothing left in my pulling muscles. So. I think I’ll give it a rest.
I want to figure out a way to feed the girl easier. I feel like I don’t know how to feed her in a pinch. I haven’t been able to find any fall-back meals. Not to mention how sensitive her tummy is.
The semester is ending soon. The girl’s stressed about papers which I know she’ll knock out with no problem. I’m relatively relaxed. All that’s left is another class or two, the practicuum and the final. Having aced the two exams so far, I feel pretty good. I’m curious what I got on my paper. No matter how I did, I feel good knowing I did it.
Maybe the girl and I can play some tennis tomorrow. Good weather for it, cooler.
Feed the girl? Sensitive tummy?
