Cardio for 4-24-9
I felt fine when I got up, but my legs just didn’t feel like they had the energy they did last Sunday. I decided to split my run into four intervals over a distance of 2 miles. So I’d jog most of half a mile, walk to catch my breath, then keep going. I had a feeling my 1.5 mile jog was an overachievement. Maybe it was just a good day. I’ll keep at it.
Otherwise feel great. My ankle still doesn’t feel right, but I feel nothing out of the ordinary when I jog. Iliotibial bands feel just fine. My legs just felt tired, that’s all.
Went to Erik’s last night. Played some game show game called Buzz! It was actually rather entertaining and engaging.
Candi and I have been discussing intermitently things we’ll need if we’re to frequent the beach. An umbrella, so we don’t get completely toasted. We have coolers, I’m just not sure whether I have enough ice packs around.
Nothing much else to say. Feels good to be active.
I have actually noted that if I take a break from running that I do MUCH better the next time around. If I push myself harder than I am accustomed, my next run is complete crap. It almost never fails! Just keep at it, you’re making good progress. Feeling good makes all the work worth it in the end. 🙂

Hey, can you be my personal trainer? The front left muscle on my shin is getting sore while running and I couldn’t find any good stretches (I haven’t looked very hard, either.) Any recommendations?

Are you wearing good running shoes? It may not make much of a difference now, but it sure will when you’re 40.
