Another Day Off.
I had a dream last night that I had long, luxurious hair again.
It was very nice.
…
Moving on.
It’s hard to believe I was actually at work yesterday. Yesterday felt like two days, where the morning feels two days away, and the evening feels like yesterday. I started the morning helping to step up line. ..But after my break, I was told I’d be on register. Don’t you hate it when you have expectations for how your day or something is going to be, and then you get told otherwise? I lost my appetite and tried to calm myself down. I’m not angry at Melissa for getting the nod over me. She is better at consolidating than me. Just frustrated, that’s all.
I saw Cassie again yesterday. Who’s she, you ask? You really shouldn’t know. She’s Angel’s younger sister. I see her around now and then. She was in Panera the day before yesterday, and once again, I couldn’t place who the fuck she was. “..Who is that girl? I’VE SEEN HER BEFORE.” Erik claims he caught her checking me out, once. Then again, he also claimed a group of Indian girls were checking me out.
After coming home, I set out for Erik’s. Only his mom was home, and like she would know where she is. I passed by the Church residence. His car was there, as expected. I wasn’t in the mood for the Churches, so I drove past it and headed to Cliff’s. That turned out to be a good move. Cliff was home, in a good mood, and was with Jess. They didn’t have any real ideas for dinner, so they asked me if I had any. I’ve been waiting for a chance to introduce somebody to Chevys. It’s not Chi-Chi’s, but I sensed Cliff enjoyed it.
Even though it was hundreds of miles away from Arlington, being in that Chevys reminded me of Paige. The general decore, the taste of the nachos and salsa. The taste of the rice. You get the idea. I couldn’t help but think of how often Paige and I went out. We were together constantly. I miss that. Despite spacing out now and then, I tried to keep my Paige interior monologue to myself.
After dropping Jess off at home, we dropped by Erik’s. He was there, with Ashley. He took Ashley home. He came back. We watched odd things on Comedy Central. Erik left many messages to Liz. … Some time later, he tried again. She answered, sounding almost post-orgasmic. Just the way she was gasping for breath after each sentence. Let’s not get into that. She finally said she’d be on her way and…
That’s when Cliff got the idea to get up and leave. Or something. I’m not quite sure what happened because I wasn’t fully aware of what we were doing. We moved the van up the street so.. Um. I forget why. I think what we were supposed to do was sneak out and scare her. I ended up camping in my hiding spot for an hour, and eventually sneaking up to Erik’s room to sleep. She never found me. *laughs* I woke up around 5:30 AM, saw her car gone, and moved out into the living room. I scratched my head, noticing Erik’s sister was sleeping on the couch. I took the other couch, felt my back say “aaaaahhhhhhh”, and fell asleep.
This morning, I helped Erik on his birthday present for Ashley. Her birthday was yesterday. You have to understand that he rarely has time away from her. She’s with him every single day. …But nevermind that, there’s many holes in that argument. We had Starz on in the background. Kill Bill Vol 2, which made me glad I never saw it. Then Judge Dredd. I have to admit, I liked it for how bad it was. Sylvester Stallone and Rob Schneider. That’s asking for corniness. And then Santa Clause 2. Again, I will admit I liked it for how corny it was.
Liz appeared behind us, gasping about how she hadn’t gotten any sleep. We encouraged her to go sleep upstairs, and that was the last we heard of her for a few hours. With her asleep, we fetched Ashley. I remember that being after Judge Dredd finished. Then um.
Food. After waiting on Ashley to finish going through Jessi’s yearbook, and then waiting on Liz to wake up, we went to the Yokohama um. I can’t even remember the full name of it. It’s one of those Japanese restaurants where they make the food right in front of you. Only in Jersey would a place like that be put in a building that was recently a STRIP CLUB. Erik mentioned something about the wood in the store being recycled. I laughed.
Given my (negative) penchant for new food, I fared …eh. I just don’t like terayaki sauce. Or mushrooms. Or shrimp. The eggs and rice were fantastic. That, I liked. The mushroom soup disturbed me. The noodles had too much terayaki sauce. My pork was, well, porky. Good, but nothing spectacular. Gave me an urge for some chicken tikka. And a mango lassi.
I had some booze. I mean, a drink. I mean, something with a name and hard liquor. It was okay. At least I knew I was getting something for my money. I wasn’t carded, which caught me off-guard. I’ve just gotten used to being carded, I guess. *smiles*
We took Ashley home, then went to Erik’s. Erik said he would probably be heading to Cliff’s. I knew it would be far too late by the time that ended, so I said I’d go home.
I’ve been previously told to being some booze to the July 3rd party that’s going to be at Erik’s. His family always has a HUGE bash on the 4th. (Nevermind that it’s on the third this year.) I’ve been considering getting some brownies from panera instead. I agree with Erik, any booze I bring probably will not be used. But, a ring of brownies? With all those little kids that will probably be around? It will not GOTO waste. Plus, I never get the chance to use my discount. Yes, I’ll actually BUY it. You think I won’t bring fresh brownies?
Ryn: Yes! Richard Cheese! That one! *grins*

RYN: Oh, okay! I thought that I was probably misunderstanding you. I read it over and over but I just didn’t get it.
