Afternoon Update for 2-28-6
I’m wearing my old glasses. I’ve concluded that there’s something wrong with the prescription. I got new glasses to give myself a slight improvement at my distance vision. Instead, not only is my distance vision a little hazy, but I was having trouble focusing on things close to me. That’s just not right.
It’s frustrating, all those hundreds of dollars down the drain. For nothing. Poof. I was taking the exam for Systems Analysis (I hate webCT), and noticed that I couldn’t focus on the screen. I was having a hard time getting my eyes to focus. It was really strange, because I’ve never had that kind of issue before. They have these overpriced LCDs (not as overpriced as Roxanne’s LCD, who I’ve never had such issues with), and kept blinking to try and get my vision to focus. Right then, I decided I’d switch back to my old glasses when I got home.
You know how during an eye exam he’ll go, ‘This one or this one?’ Uh. Neither really looked good? Meh. Those things always happen so fast. In the past my prescription would be such an improvement that such quibbling wouldn’t matter. During the exam, it SEEMED like the strengthening make things sharper. But it also seemed to be out of focus at the same time. Too strong? Perhaps.
Fuckin` A.
I realized that I don’t have a Jim Ruane this year. Oh sure, I love my spanish profesora. She can really brighten my day. But, that humble sarcasm he had. He literally took a potentially boring subject and made it interesting. I did ace the damn course.
Despite having a lifestyle of avoidance, I still haven’t been able to relax in a couple weeks. It’s just been building and building, and my reaction is to just shut down. I fight it, trying to keep going, but there has to be a way for me to just relax. I used to be good at that, used to be something I’d pride myself on.
Oh dude, I remembered a dream I had last night. It was like watching basketball highlights. Michael Jordan changing hands with the ball mid-air a dozen times before swinging his arm around for a dunk. *laughs* Only in dreams. Except. The other day at CCM, I was inadvertantly watching some Harlem Globetrotters thingie. Half-court shots? You got it.
Always comes back to trying to make myself happy. Will try again.
(By the way, that test I said I’d fail? Despite not studying at all, and not even knowing what the class is about, I got a 70% on the one portion of it. …*blinks*)
I once had an eye Dr that would flip SOOO quick. You’d think they want you to take your time and ensure that it’s accurate. bah! Can’t you get your money back?
Warning Comment
take the glasses back. it’s always possible that they used the wrong perscription. i used to work for vista optical, a really shitty operation that had that problem all the time. with all the refunds they’ve had to issue, they finally went from bankrupt to out-of-business.

Yeah well, I had a dream that giant gremlins were trying to eat me and i had to hide… and they kept finding me… Don’t worry I lived.

I do know that, very well! It just seems somewhat … hypocritical (?) … for you to comment and give ‘advice’ on how other people should believe in themselves etc. when you can’t take your own advice. *hugs* I think you’re brilliant T and you so need a big big hug and lots of super love! *nods*
Warning Comment
You should make check with what ever place you got your glasses from doesn’t have some kind of return policy. Usually they say if something is off with your prescription that you can have it changed within 30 days.
Warning Comment
You should take them back and make sure the glasses are right. That’s *their* job. How are your Sims? I miss them.
Warning Comment
Maybe you should go get your prescription redone or maybe you just need to adjust?

Dude, it’s not hundreds of dollars down the drain, just call the eye place and let them know you’re having trouble with the prescription. They should be able to correct it for you, it’s their job to make sure you can see. Other than that– hang in there, and much love.
