So Thursday was my first day at work as a fundraising chair for the American Cancer Society. I’m the youngest in the office, but not by too much. I still feel out of place though. I’m the new kid still. I hate being the new kid.

I was the new kid last night too when I went to see Kyle’s band play at the bar. I know how important his band is to him and knew that their approval of me was probably necessary. I’m great with meeting new people, but this just wasn’t my environment. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing Kyle up on stage with his shirt off playing the drums, but its obvious that wasn’t my kind of scene. Mostly metal-heads in black with studded belts and chains and then there was me….just this petite little brunnette in her light blue sweater, clutching her purse and trying to look comfortable. Oh well, it was still a great time.

Seeing Kyle up on stage is amazing. I didn’t realize how talented he is as a drummer. He’s a complete maniac on stage and then after the set he comes down, gives me a sweet peck on the lips and tells me he can’t wait to just curl up with me at home.

I know ladies, I know…it’s strange. We just kiss. The boy is 26 years old and not interested in getting laid right now. We’ve had all that “pre-sex” conversation already just feeling each other out a bit…you know the kind of conversation I’m talking about. When you try to slip casual questions into conversation…for example…

“Yeah, the other day I was watching Sex and the City…speaking of sex…how many people have you slept with?” or the ever popular…

“Damn, I wish there was a table or bar stool open, I am so sick of standing already…and speaking of standing, have you ever had a one night stand?”

Ok, ok, so its not quite that lame and obvious, but you all have tried to get info like that casually, admit it. Sometimes I wish men just came with a little data sheet

Back to the not wanting sex thing, I am perfectly fine with him not making a move for now. He is constantly kissing me and running his hands across my body. I guess I just expected him to be a bit more of a “bad boy”. The whole rock star, “I’m going to push you up against a wall in the stairwell and take you right here” kind of attitude. But he’s sweet, kind, flattering, and even kind of shy and he’s hotter than hell on stage.

And to top it all off…he told me he loved me this morning after he left.
