God is COOL!

I mean, He’s awesome and great and the Lord of Lords and King of Kings and all that too, but sometimes, He’s just Cool! and since He’s, like, well, God, He’s the epitome of Cool….

So, things have been (and still pretty much are) rough financially around here right now.. S and I are kinda slow sometimes and we thought our lease was up June 20. We thought we had plenty of time to find a new place AND save the money needed to afford a new place… WRONG!!! I got a weird feeling the other day and took a look at the lease… it’s up May 20th!!! that leaves us less than a month to come up with money and find a place that fits in our price range, plus it has to be in a decent area and not too icky! grr arg hiss boo and all onomatopoeia that applies to frustration with one’s circumstances.. 😉 Needless to say, S was pretty upset and getting kind of worked up, wondering how we were going to make it…. we both spent a bit of time in prayer asking God to help us know what to do.. I just asked Him flat out to help us find what we needed to get by… that was Thursday night.. Friday morning I got a phone call… from my boss… asking me to work the lunch shift.. not thinking at all about it, i said sure… i don’t make much money on the lunch shift, but every little bit helps… so i go into work… no sooner do i walk in, then one of the other girls that i work with RUNS up to me and says, “tia, just the person i was looking for!” and then proceeds to beg me to work (and close) for her that night (friday)… not really wanting to, but wanting to help her out, i said sure, still not thinking about my prayer the night before.. so friday (my usual day off) i worked a very long double shift.. 10:30am to about 11:00pm..

Later that night, DRAGGING myself in the house, tired and beat from the day, I sat down on the couch. . and remembered my prayer.. i smiled a little and glanced up at the ceiling (kind of my way of making sure there’s NO doubt of who I’m talking to) and said a little thank you to Him for watchin my back…. with an added reminder to myself to be more specific when asking for monetary help… i threw my hands up for a second and (almost) jokingly said “I didn’t mean I wanted to WORK for the money!!!!” 

the point of all this is…. God is Cool…. and funny! 🙂 i think i may have a little crush on Him!! 😉
