PARTING IS SUCH SWEET SORROW

Today was another step closer to the real Spring. The morning was a vision of oranges and yellows dancing through the clouds as the sun fought its way into the sky. Bright and with the promise of a warm clear day the sunrise lit the way to work and made the familiar commute mystical. Stopping to replace my losing lottery ticket with another contender brought me back into reality. This was not Oz it was New Jersey.

My son is going tomorrow for vacation in Florida to visit his wife’s parents. The girls are stuttering with excitement and I am willing to bet that they will not sleep easy tonight. They are 11 years and 9 years and lovely young ladies. I think of how excited the other grand parents must be also to have this Easter visit. This visit is an annual event and all involved look forward to it. I miss them already.

Yesterday I went to bed a winner having the best picks in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. I do have to confess that the major ingredient in my successful selections was luck. I picked U Conn to win just in case everybody else picked Duke. It was a crapshoot because if I did not get the points for the winning pick I was so far back as to be out of the running. Now comes the hard part in getting the winnings because my daughter was holding the cash. This is a recipe for disaster. My daughter uses a scale to balance her check book and figures any cash in the house is to be spent before it disappears. This should be fun. Looks like my Higher Power is once again showing her sense of humor. First have me win the pool and then have her sister be guarding the winnings. I realize that until I collect I am minus $10.00.

Today is a 85%

Congratulations on winning the pool….even if you never see the cash!
