NIGHT and day OF THE LIVING DEAD
Friday night I went to a Dinner/Dance. Doris was dressed in a very sexy Black Leather outfit with a skirt that was split up to her ears ( I kid you not). We immediately had to let our Waiter know our dinner choices and selected from four entrees. Chicken, Pasta Salmon ( Doris ) and I opted for Prime Rib. The room filled rapidly and was all couples. I watched all the tables and came to the conclusion that Doris was the most beautiful of all the women present. Let me point out that we were to see a Band that plays music from the 50-60- and 70 ties so the age group of the audience was upwards of 65. Then again this was not a static group because they moved from table to to Dance Floor. Very many of the men and women were good dancers and knew the dances and the steps.Somewhere about 11 pm it all came crashing down for me.Chills, wheezing and coughing hit me like a ton of bricks. We headed out soon and I changed our plans and brought Doris to her place. Then I went home and hit the sheets.
Saturdays I leave my house about 6:30 to set up for a AA Meeting. I make coffee ect and set up chairs for two groups. One is a Step Meeting and is mainly people with a year or more in AA and the other is a Beginners Meeting with newcomers. I have been leading this meeting for about 10 years a practice frowned on by AA where we are careful of egocentric Empire Builders.
I was not a pretty sight this morning with s nose to equal Rudolph’s and many unpleasant sound effects. I reached my house by 10 am and sacked out. The next thing I knew was 7:30 pm as I awoke. I was weak and sickly and this was to be the story of my life for the next few days.
Two words for you……chicken soup!
