timed entry
Sometimes I am afraid to write because I am afraid I will get sucked in and spend (waste) too much time here. So I am giving myself a time limit, and then I will post – even if I haven’t perfectly completed my entry! After all, I certainly waste plenty of time in other useless endeavors!
Today is my mom’s birthday. I sent her a card, but I need to call her later, too. She was here of course last weekend for Youngest’s confirmation. So was

ok, I now have to extend my timer, because my college daughter just called. *warm fuzzy happy feeling* now, where was I?

College girl came home for the weekend, and mom-in-law came down with my mom. Father-in-law came down and we got to meet him and his girlfriend after church and lunch, as he felt uncomfortable showing up to church because he was afraid his ex-wife would glare at him. Which was a legitimate worry. Anyway, we also took the entire crew including one of college girl’s best friends to the opera the night before. The production of The Barber of Seville was so awesome! That opera is always wonderful anyway: great music, funny, songs familiar from Bugs Bunny cartoons — but this production staged it visually in the 1950’s and 60’s. The Barber, Figaro, was Elvis and rode around the stage on a motor scooter! It was full of images from movies and pop culture, including Doris Day + Rock Hudson, The Beatles, Grease — even Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video. The actual songs were exactly as written — with eyes closed you could imagine the traditional nineteenth century costumes. Anyway, it was so much fun!
It was also very wonderful to see my daughter. We had not seen her since March, and then, only briefly. She did not come home for Easter because she was planning to come home for this confirmation/opera weekend. So, it just felt so wonderful to be with her.
Timer just went off. I have at least 3 more things to share.
Hmmmm….. *thinking about whether to continue writing, or come back again soon*

Later it is!

I’m glad the opera weekend went well and was fun. Will be looking forward to “later.” 🙂

I adore live performances!! Such fun! RYN: Yes, I dumped all my friends – all of them. They were sucking me dry! I tend to attract extremely dysfunctional people and the lean on me way too much. It was hard – but necessary!
