Something new/Something interesting

Opendiaryers are probably aware of a little thing called "youtube."  What I’m going to do every now and again, I believe,  because I wanna keep updating this, is have some entries be both in video and text. So this is gonna be the first one.  I was gonna do  it a while ago, but I set it as private, and… it didn’t work out.  But, um… I have a small established thing on youtube, and I like  it , more or less.  So I’m going to do that.  What I might also do is, um, play a son-this is what I wanna do, I doubt I’ll do it all the time, even like once a week, because I’m lazy like that.  But I’ll play a song and comment on it while it’s going on.  It’s a song that I like or don’t like, and I’m gonna actually look for one right now, while I’m talking to you.  Basically what I’m gonna do is have a transcript of the video blog up on my Open Dairy, and also have the video, so you people with slow internet connections don’t have to watch it, um, if you’re reading my diary at all. 
Tell me what you think, if you like it or not, because I kinda do. 
I believe that the song  I’m gonna play for you is a song called "Keasby Nights" by Streetlight Manifesto, which is actually technically a cover of a Catch 22 song; however, most of the band members from Streetlight Manifesto are from Catch 22, so it’s kinda a cover, but they did the whole CD called Keasby Nights, so here is the song

Now, I really like the way it begins, with the old sounding style.  It’s a ska song, I’m very into ska right now: it’s what I listen to, mostly… That’s one of my favorite parts.  My favorite part of ska, generally speaking, is the yelling in the background, the participation of the whole band instead of just the lead singer in  the vocal section.  I like it.  It adds something different to the music which I feel is lacking.  I feel like music isn’t having fun anymore, and I feel that’s a big problem…  I really like the pre-chorus too, just a little bit of trombone, the sliding… The Breakdown…

So that was Keasby Nights by Streetlight Manifesto… originally done by Catch 22.  It’s a song I’ve been listning to a lot lately.  I really like the chorus, and what they’re saying in the chorus, you know, "When they call for me I’ll be sitting at my desk with a gun in my hand wearing a bulletproff vest, singing ‘my my my how the time does fly when you know you’re gonna die by the end of the night.’"  I think you can take that a bunch of different ways because I feel like saying you’re gonna die by the end of the night doesn’t really mean that you’re gonna physically die by the end of the night, but you know, the person that you are for that night will be dead.  I’ve felt that way a lot lately, going out and… experiencing different things and having them all… be over by the end of the night, and the next morning I wake up and I’m a different person in a different life doing different things.  Yep… um… that’s about it for now.
