Crazy Constituents

I deal with wacky people on a regular basis.  I deal with rude people.  I deal with people that are so stupid they should be allowed to procreate.  And I take it all in stride—it’s what makes the world spin.  I can keep my cool and maintain a level head.  With everyone except one man.  He makes me so crazy mad.

Mr. A comes in on a regular basis.  He has a problem with a neighbor’s pond causing erosion on his land.  I’ve been onsite and it is the second coming of the grand canyon.  His problem is real.  Instead of following rules and regulations and township code, which somehow do not apply to him, he does things his way.  And the township cites him and takes him to court.

When he first came around about this I explained this is a state representative’s office, not an attorney’s office.  We do not rule the township.  And he goes on and on that what does his state rep do if he doesn’t represent him.  I used to answer that question politely.  Not anymore.

I’ve done my best by this man.  I’ve spoken with the township.  I’ve set up meeting with Dept of Environmental Protection.  And he’s still an ass.  He doesn’t want to follow procedure.  And when he gets his hand slapped his turns into a f*ucktard.

He marched into my office today blowing steam again.  Same issue.  He went ahead and filled the erosion in without getting the necessary permits and it is likely that he’ll face legal action – again.  He was going on and on about someone has to do their job and help him and what does a state representative do if he doesn’t represent him.  I was done.  I had enough.  I let him have it with both barrels.  I know I overstepped my bounds, but I was tired of his garbage.

You want to know how demented he is?  He is one of those that believes by drafting a statement that he no longer belongs to the "Corporation of the United States" and the "Corporation of Pennsylvania" and getting an apostile from the Attorney General’s office, that he no longer has to pay taxes or is subject to the court system.  Ain’t that something?  Yet, when I asked him about property taxes, he acknowledged that he pays those.  I asked why if he doesn’t believe he should have to pay anything===he said that he didn’t want his property taken from him

He even came in here once to rescind his voters registration.  Moron.

I went about telling him today that he makes it very difficult to help him.  Certainly the desire wanes when he hops on his soapbox and goes about blasting every government worker coming and going.  I know we are an easy target, but I have to tell you that everyone I have dealt with works hard.  I certainly work harder than I ever did in the private sector.  There is far more accountability–and visibility.  I never leave on time.  And I get paid jack sh*t.  How I lament my love of public service.  I need to have my head examined.

I leave for Disney on Friday morning.  It just cannot come soon enough.  Yeah Mickey!

RYN: I was certainly not saying that the devalued dollar is the only reason the gas prices are so high. It’s just that when I constantly hear people griping about high gas prices and groceries and then saying how much they want more social programs (socialized medicine) I want them to realize that that will just contribute to the public debt which will devalue the dollar more and the fact that McCain plans to keep us in Iraq as long as he thinks necessary (though he is throwing out some bogus timeframe now) and Obama has no real concrete plan to get us out we certainly aren’t going to be able to balance the future fiscal budgets in that regard so wanting socialized medicine is counterproductive. But it is a whole series of shorter entries that hopefully will make things clearer and I can’t touch on every minute detail in an entry that has to remain short enough that they don’t tax people’s attention spans. If I was writing specifically to economics majors it would be a whole different thing but when the general populace uses the word deficit when they mean public debt (which I did in my entry for expediency purposes) it is best to keep things simplified. Thanks fo

I work in a counseling center (I do prevention work) and when clients call to speak to a counselor they can be some of the rudest, demanding people too. They always have a court date in five minutes and NEED to speak to their counselor NOW!! Sorry your crisis is not my emergency (wish I could say that anyway!)

I’m from Chicagoland originally and weekday garage sales are unheard of there also. In MN they are usually Thurs-Sat. It is weird.
