A Pseudo Entry

I’ve been promising Carolina Dreamer a real entry. Haven’t quite gotten there yet, but I thought this survey was kind of interesting

1. Do you have a college degree?

Sure do. BA in Sociology

2. What was the amount of your last electric bill?

About $325 or so. Gotta remember to shut the windows when the heat is on.

3. Do you have life insurance?

Absolutely. My nephews want some inheritance.

4. How many hours per week do you work?

About 45-50

5. Have you ever attended a Toastmasters event?

No, but I would like to

6. Favorite place to attend Happy Hour?

Parc Bistro….I call it "The Club"

7. How many miles is your commute to work each day (one way)?

Takes about 10 minutes. I think it is about 4 miles.

8. What time do you get up every morning for work?

Alarm goes off at 6, I crawl out of bed no later than 6:30

9. What is your definition of sleeping in late? 9:00 am

10. Do you check your cholesterol on a yearly basis? I should, but I don’t

11. How large was your first cell phone?

I had one of those crazy bag phones. I thought I was SOOOOOO cool.

12. Does your employer provide good health insurance?

Fabulous health insurance. And I don’t pay a dime.

13. Did you use the internet to write a research paper?

I wish. I typed my thesis on a typewriter. No computers then.

14. Have you attended a HS reunion?

Absolutely. All of them. I find the changes in people fascinating.

15. How many jobs have you held in your professional career?

1. Insurance Claims Adjuster

4. Administrative Coordinator for Elected Official
5. Legislative Aide for a different Elected Official

16. Have you ever been fired or laid off from a job?

Yes, it was a huge, painful narcissistic injury

17. What is your favorite drink?

Alcoholic: Red wine Non-alcoholic: Coke

18. What is the most expensive bottle of wine that you have in your residence?

I have some tucked away that I have seen on restaurant wine lists for $400.
I’m happiest with the $15 bottle of wine.

19. Have you been divorced?

Nope, haven’t even been married

20. How old were you when you stopped getting ID’d for Alcohol?

Too long ago. Probably late 20’s or so.

21. Favorite casino? I’m not much of a gambler, however I love the hotel at The Venetian.

22. Are you happier now than you were in high school? Hard to answer that one. I have far more self-confidence now. So I’ll say yes.

23. Did you ever have Hypercolor shirts?

I don’t even know what hypercolor shirts are.

24. Do you remember when Michael Jackson was black and was attracted to older people?

Yes. The rumors of his affair with Liz Taylor. Ick.

25. Do you remember when MTV actually played music videos?

I recall watching the FIRST music video when it FIRST aired.

26. Have you had a will made?

Not a real one. I send my attorney (also my best friend)an email detailing how I want things split up every time I get on a plane or do something where I might not return. He thinks I’m crazy.

27. What music was in your cd / cassette player when you were 16? John Cougar Mellenkamp, Genesis, Asia, Air Supply, Boston all took turns in my cassette player. We did have a car with an 8-track player when I was younger.

28. Favorite fancy / upscale restaurant?

I’m always happy at the Mainland Inn. But I do backflips for Birchrunville Store Cafe.

29. How long has it been since you attended a kegger?

15-20 years.

30. Where were you when you found out about 9-11?

Sitting on the end of my bed watching The Today Show.

Yayyyyy! A pseudo entry is better than no entry at all! Its amazing how much you can learn about people just from simple surveys like this …. and I’m sooooooo happy you didn’t know what a “hypercolor” shirt is! LOL My first thought was a tie-dyed one.

ryn: I worked for the lawyer a LONG time ago (around the time that first MTV video was on – well at least I’m not the only geezer on OD). Anyway, so when I worked for him, people weren’t “scanning” things yet, so blue pen wasn’t a big deal. They hired me to come in after school because they had just bought a computer to make things easier, but no one knew how to use it – hence, hiring the youngster to teach them about it. They were still typing with carbons on a typewriter. Good times. I used to be a note follower as well, you meet some of the most interesting people that way.
