I know, I know…

I’ve been absent. And no, there is nothing particularly wrong. In fact, I think emotionally, I’m doing quite well…for the moment. I’m quite aware that may be short lived.  Just when I think I’m doing well, something comes along and punches me in the gut, and I’m back to square one.  But, for now, I’m doing okay.

I’ve dealt with being sick over the past week or so, probably resulting from being sick a couple of weeks ago. I’m not going to bore you with details, except for one.  What I had this time was a sinus and ear infection.  The swelling sinuses resulted in the aggravation of a nerve in my face that caused me the  most intense pain.  I could not believe how intense it was, and how, when the worst of it is now over, I’m left with this incredible soreness on one side of my head.  So much so that brushing my hair on that side, caused tears and that driving to the doctor, it was warm here and I turned on the a/c in my car and just the air hitting that side of my face, caused me to move the vent away. It actually hurt!!

Otherwise, there is just not much going on in my life.  I’ve been sort of gearing the  up with thoughts of Christmas. Since I’m heading to California for Thanksgving, I would like to be able to take my oldest and his wife their Christmas presents, since I HATE mailing things.  I bought a couple of things for them while I was in Vancouver, and their "big" gift is always money, but i would like to come up with a couple of other things for them.  I ordered a Nativity set from Lenox that I saw in the catalog the other day, but I will end up looking at it and deciding if that is something that I think they would like or whether my youngest and his fiance would like it better.  It is one of the weird things that I think I just have to look at…

On the Pepi front, I had hoped to do "before and after" pics of him after he was groomed, but I forgot to take pics until yesterday, and I looked at him and decided that he is already too much of a mess.  So, next time I have him groomed.  I will say that he looked really cute for about 3 hours until he and Zeke began playing and Zeke figured out he could use the little bandana they had put on Pepi, to swing him around the room by.  So, off that came!!  And now he looks a little worse for wear, since Zeke’s favorite thing is to put his whole body in his mouth and slurp and drool a few times, leaving Pepi a bit drippy!

The other good news is that I think we finally got the fence so that he cannot get out.  I’ve taken him out two days in a row and watched him try every escape spot he could find and they are no longer available to him!  So, I will wait outside a few more trips to make sure before letting him out on his own!!  But, yay for not having to walk him 5 times a day!!

There is simply not much more to write.  I haven’t been anywhere, I don’t feel any rants coming on, life is just pleasantly banal, and you know, I kind of like it that way.

Take care and have a good week!

ryn: I wrote something sort of like that, once. You can read it here if you like: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AWymPEiXyIccZGc0amt2eDdfMGc4dGRtZ2Y0&hl=en And, well. Apologies for overlooking your question – have had a lot on my mind. I was officially diagnosed with therapy-related leukemia yesterday. I talk about it a bit in my new journal, “vesi, aurinko, taivas.” shh. heh.

ouf that sinus infection sounds awful! I hope you are on the mend, now. Glad the fence is in working order now, that will certainly make life easier!

Big votes from here on feeling better. Sick is a pain. Giggling at the thought of Zeke swinging Pepi around by the bandana. Not very nice of me, I admit. But the picture in my head is too funny to ignore! Loves to you! ~M

I’m sure glad that slobbery Zeke isn’t my hairdresser. I have to smile at the image of him swinging Pepi around by the bandana. Those two have become fast friends.

honestly? it wasn’t so much pity at the time (i know i know, likely story right?). but really. it was more sort of feeling like I just wasn’t going to make it. It was one very serious setback after another for a long time, and one cannot expect their luck to continue forever, right? Not so much pity as… an admission of impending mortality. but hey.. my luck held.

Catching up here. Sinus infections suck. That must have been some awful pain. Hope you are feeling better now.
