I am the proud owner….

of a 2009 Nissan Altima…Silver with black interior.  Does this sound familiar? If it does, it could be because my 2004 Nissan Altima…Silver with black interior is what I totaled! I actually did not start out to buy a car just like what I had. I test drove the Altima, A Sonata, A Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Toyata Camry, and one I wasn’t expecting to test drive, A Subaru Forrester. It came down to the Forrester, Fusion and Altima, and when all things were considered, the Altima won on price and comfort and bells and whistles. As for the color, it was either that one or a white one, and in Oklahoma with all the red dirt around here, white is just not the best color to have. So….it is silver.  About this color.  And I do like it. Now If I can just get to drive it!  I test drove the white one, because the silver one was in another lot in another of their dealerships in a nearby town. It ended up taking a lot longer for them to go get it, detail it and so forth, until it was time to drive off and it was 5:00 in Dallas traffic and I had done so much over the past couple of days, that I had to break down and take a pain pill about 3:00 and figured I probably shouldn’t drive in that kind of traffic with a narcotic in me. So, Son drove the new car and daughter in law drove their car back to my friends, where we were staying, where we managed a quick bite to eat and packed up. By this time it was 7:00 and the worst of the meds and traffic were gone…BUT, I had driven a rental car to Dallas, so I had to drive it home, since I was the only one on the insurance. So, once again, Son got to drive it the 2  1/2 hours back here. Tomorrow will be my turn, after returning the rental!

Son has been great while we were in Dallas, dealing with all the car crap, as has daughter in law. He seemed a bit tense tonight when we got home and they crashed a couple of hours ago. I survived my anniversary with a minimum of drama, but he seemed to struggle with that a bit yesterday. It is obvious to me that he is still struggling, but sadly, there is nothing I can do about it.  He is having lunch with a friend tomorrow, then we are grilling with my father in law and sister in law tomorrow night and Thursday we will head for OKC. I think it will all be okay. We shall see…

I probably won’t get much of a chance to get on between now and next Tuesday when I come home, so I hope everyone has a nice weekend and just know that I appreciate your comments and support and so far, I’m hanging in there.

I’m so happy for you. Let’s do lunch soon and check out each other’s new cars.

Grats on the new car! Silver is THE color these days. When I bought my new car a few months ago, they had black, and they had silver. I had assumed I’d want black but when I saw them side by side, silver won, hands down. And then I looked around our parking garage at work and realized that literally 80% of the cars are silver. And then Sarah reminded me when we were driving from London to Liverpool a couple years ago, I kept saying “Wow there’s ANOTHER silver car, I never saw so many silver cars in my life”. Her tone of voice when she reminded me of this, made me think maybe I got on her nerves just a little bit with my frequent comments about silver cars! LOL. Anyway enjoy the time with the kids, and enjoy the new car.

Subarus are expensive to repair. Lots of people drive them up here. Sounds like you got a very nice car. Camry’s are nice too…last a long time. My last two cars have been silver coloured. I think silver accentuates the body shape of any car.
