POEM (055) I can’t sense the light

I can’t sense the light

I can’t sense the light,
I panic, mid flight,
I crash and fall,
through a sturdy brick wall.

I can’t feel the light,
I flail, I cry,
I flutter and shy
away from the dark of the dat.

I can’t hear the light,
it’s no longer my plight,
deaf to the sounds
that could keep me up right.

I can’t see the light,
it’s dark, I’m alone,
I’m trembling, I’m scared,
I’ve fallen, I’m prone.
