Another Request

I think I’ll be asking this over in Torin’s diary as well, for those who don’t read The Watcher. I still have a few outstanding prompts which, for some reason, are not inspiring my imagination as well as they could, but I haven’t given up on them. However, I have an idea for a small book of short stories and at the moment, I only have about five. I’m thinking that 50 is a good number of stories for a book, especially if they’re only 2 or 3 pages long. I might include some longer ones (like the Randarma one), but I’d like to keep the page count (and therefore the price) down to something reasonable. I found a site that allows you to self-publish without a cash outlay, you see, and I thought I might give it a try. If it does well, then maybe I’ll get my act in gear to get the Torin stories rewritten and out there.

So, the request: Some more opening sentences, if you’d be so good. I’m also going to be doing my best to come up with ideas–I’ve some dreams I can tap into. Wish me luck, dear friends.

With a snow-covered smile.

I just woke up, my brain isn’t functioning well enough to come up with ideas… the book sounds like a good plan, though, much luck on the endeavor! Snow? It rained here yesterday but peeking out the window I see blue sky. Maybe it’ll warm up to the 60s today 🙂

I wish you luck; what is this site? As for a sentence, my first doesn’t seem to have inspired, but I shall go off and see if I can come up with another from someplace in the recesses of my mind anyway.

Thank you for your thoughtful advice and you blessing.

Snow…I have heard of it. Waving my magic wand I am sending 40 degree heatand a parcel of red bellied black snakes. To alleviate the prblem. and now for that first sentence… The sound came to me of one step on the stairs and a dull thud. The door continued with strange sounds as if someone was trying to open it but I was alone or…

Re the site that allows you to publish. will people actually read the stories? I ask as I have read..and believe it..that people of today have short attention spans. I myself am overwhelmed by all the diaries i try to read and then Michener with his 1,000 page novels etc. Rimbaud who I struggle to understand . I have a number of stories but find tif you have not been published you are catch 22.

You still got snow? Why you hogging it? “Darnell looked up as the shadow crossed the window….” Any good?

I do hope the site you spoke about er wrote about is not exploiting your work. All best to you for your writing and thanks for your comments..alexias

That sounds like a great idea. I hope it works out for you. You definitely deserve to be published dear heart! Here’s my suggestion, just off the top of my head… She snuggled deeper into her pillow, a smile lingering as the pleasant dream faded. *warmest hugs*
