The Sea and Me

A poem I wrote about Amir’s eyes…

The Sea and Me

Rushing, whisp’ring wind and me,
Sweeping hazel of the sea.
Captured by the glints therein,
Swimming from the depths, ascend.

Swirling, thrashing sea and me,
Drifting top and still beneath.
Placid here beneath the wave,
Serenity the still has made.

Silent, glowing light and me,
Hidden rays lie in the sea.
Woven in the hazel dusk
As it holds them in its trust.

Cloudy, airy sky and me,
Envious of hazel sea.
Stirring waters on the surface,
Your envy isn’t without purpose.

Calming, starry sea and me,
Content and so I must concede.
Shadows flick’ring, dark and light
Does stillness in my soul incite.
