what of tomorrow?
All dreams become nightmares
In what I see
For this destructive world
That lies before me.
Taking of life;
Changing of clothes-
There is no difference
Here in deaths throes.
Yesterday is forgotten
And tomorrow is lost.
Is this evolution?
And if so at what cost?
RYN: I find it to be more like riding a bicycle – when you’re starting out, you have to think about each step, but when you’re experienced it becomes second nature. Similarly with the liturgy, I seek to go beneath the words to the adoration they express. Every time I get yanked out by unauthorized changes, obstacles are put in my way. Call it “propaganda” if you will; I call it worship.

RYN: Well, all I can say is that my experience does not match your expectation. I do not even see any dichotomy between a uniform order of Mass and “willful and thoughtful regard”. In fact, it seems to me that the former actually promotes the latter.
