Enlightenment!

I just saw The Phantom of the Opera in the movie theater. If you have not seen it yet, go out and see it. If you have, go out and see it again! There are few movies that have moved me in such a way as did this one. And if the movie has this kind of effect on me, imagine what the live production does to me! But anyway, seeing it has greatly lifted my post Christmas spirits. And spekaing of which, New Year’s Eve is on the morrow! I need to prepare some New Year’s resolutions and all that jazz. Not to mention I still need to figure out what I’ll be doing on said evening. Until then, I’ll be listening to The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack and thinking about life in general. Oh, and if you were wondering, my Christmas was quite merry and what not. There were good times to be had by all. But I don’t really feel like going into extreme detail, since my mind is so preoccupied with The Phantom at the moment. Speaking of which . . .

Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness wakes and stirs imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Helpless to resist the notes I write,
For I compose the Music of the Night.

Slowly, gently, Night unfurls its Splendor
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Hearing is believing, Music is deceiving –
Hard as lightning, soft as candlelight…
Dare you trust the Music of the Night!

Close your eyes –
For your eyes will only tell the Truth
And the truth isn’t what you want to see…
In the darkness it’s easy to pretend
That the truth is what it ought to be…

Softly, deftly, Music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it, secretly possess you
Open up your mind, Let your fantasies unwind
In this Darkness which you know you cannot fight,
The Darkness of the Music of the Night!

Close your eyes –
Start a journey through a strange new world!
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before!
Close your eyes and Let music set you free!
Only then can you belong to me…

Floating, falling, Sweet Intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savor each Sensation
Let the dream begin, Let your darker side give in
To the Power of the music that I write,
The Power of the Music of the Night!

You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the Music of the Night!

Ah…So until I actually do save the world from being overtaken by The Phantom of the Opera…

The Phantom of the Opera is truly an amazing event when it’s live. I had the oppertunity to see it in San Francisco several times, and I get chills just thinking about it.

Monday, absolutely.
