pistoleros.

The other day, I listened to "Nevermind the Bollocks" by the Sex Pistols.
It was good!
I got that record when I was in the eighth grade. I remember it very clearly. I got my parents to drop me off at the mall so I could look for CDs to buy. I had enough for two.
It was summer.
I had planned to buy the Sex Pistols album ever since I heard who they were…which I think was about three or four months previous to this early-June expedition.
I got it, and I listened to it every day for about two weeks.
Then once every couple of weeks until I was around fifteen or sixteen.
After that point, I didn’t really listen to it again…until now.

When I was a lot younger, I used to walk around my high school with that album on a tape in my walkman, and feel a great swell of superiority over the other punks in the joint, because I was decently sure that for all their posturing, they couldn’t even name a Sex Pistols song.
In hindsight, I’m torn between wondering if I was being an elitist, unappreciative fuck and realizing that it seems a LOT of what punk rock is about – once you get through all the bullshit and the kids trying to sound positive about it – is being an elitist, unappreciative fuck.

Thank god I never really got into the fashion aspects of it. Studded leather and spikey hair make me mad.
Puncque Rocque still…….sucques!

Rocque on! Yes, I listened to it a few times on my trip. I watched Sid and Nancy. Wanted to jump Sid for sexual purposes, wanted to jump Nancy for murdering purposes.

French punk rock is sooooo bad. 🙁 I like that you added an exclamation mark to the 2nd sentence of the entry. “It was good!” It seems so happy and surprising and like when a 12 year old goes to the fair or something. We shall hang out before you leave sir.
