it sure is fine to see you

ultimately, i think i’m in a better place now than a year ago this time. which is a good thing.
it means that i’ve made some profit this year.
so i’m not too upset about that. even if there have been massive disappointments in the last 365 days.

TIRED PEOPLE TWITCHING AT THE OFFICE.

i think that it was important for me to shave my beard. i hadn’t been beardless since i was in grade 12….so it was like the last remaining artifact from my HS days that was holding me back. keeping me stuck in the past. but now it’s gone. sure, i’m growing it back, but it’ll be a new one. a beard free of association.
i’m sure that sounds ludicrous, and it probably is.
in fact, it definitely is.

there’s something to be said for just good, honest practice. it won’t make you perfect, but it’ll make you good.
said the three boys in the basement.

and when all the dust settles, if you can listen to a record and say "hey…this is a good album"…then everyone has done their job perfectly. and there’s no need to be worried. it won’t be a time capsule. it’ll still be great a year later. that kind of achievement has always alluded me. i think we nailed it this time around.

i’m kind of excited to go and live out this fantasy of being independent and on my own and looking for someone to settle down and be normal with. that’s pretty much it. that’s the plan.
to leave this lonely life behind.
so if i have an air of positive anticipation about me, that’s why.
maybe i won’t even have to grow a huge cuomo beard.

you know…my band is a really prolific group. it’s just the truth. we write a lot of songs.
i hope it’s always that way. so that someday we have a vault of tunes that rivals that of prince or RC and we can put out a huge boxed set to sell for 150 bucks a pop. 7 discs long. the rock disc, the folk disc, the pop disc, the dvd, the demos and unfinished songs disc…oh hell yeah. people will eat that shit up. and i’ll buy a new car from the proceeds.

maybe an accord.
that would be a sensible automobile.
