The Song You Never Knew Was Ours
Its tune reaches me in a way
that you no longer can
Or at least no longer choose to
Both calling me back
To remember, happiness and sadness
Which you gave to me
And reminding me
That I need to move on…
I can still love
I can still live
You never took that from me
And never wanted to
So I guess I should
Be ready to try again
I like that. I just need to settle down and not continue to read so critically. I finished my last day of college today, so I’m still in that zone.

Brilliant. I am sure many can relate, as I do

This poem, reminded me of the song “Hesitate” by Stone Sour. The song contradicts itself because it talks about needing someone, but yet not allowing yourself to need someone, or visualizing about someone when they are not there. Regardless, it is about recalling a time of joy and comparing it to a time of desire/need, which is what I took from your poem.
