Snowy, Chilly, New England Morning

giveaway of the day

Currently I don’t have heat – no, to be correct, I have HEAT, but not a working furnace. I’ve got two ceramic heaters running in the house, and we’re up around 56 – 57F, which is close to what I keep it normally. I also have a furnace repairman downstairs currently, and he tells me that it was simply a "dirty Cad Cell". We are to schedule a cleaning sooner rather than later, so we won’t need service calls anymore. This is a good thing. The best thing so far? He tells me that the office told him to "just give you the reciept and we’ll bill you". 🙂 Nice! That’s why we stick with a local company, and we try to be repeat customers. I will admit I felt guilty, because we just got 100 gals of oil – only from a different company. My "regular" company has oil for about $2.569, while the company that I went with had oil for $2.50. I still went with a company that was in-town, so I am helping my local economy…but I still felt a wee bit guilty. Well, I’m sure they’d understand – you have to do what you can to make it these days.

Mom is doing pretty well; I haven’t spoken to her this morning, but I will in a few minutes – as soon as the oil guy leaves. Last night was her 2nd night without Boo & Myself there…my brother still lives with her, and when he’s not sulking, he’s somewhat helpful. We’re also shooting for a whole WEEK without an Emergency Department visit. I say that because of: My Mom’s Friday, Jan. 22nd visit – then my Stepfather’s Tuesday, Jan. 26th visit – and then my stepfather’s Thursday, Feb. 4th visit. Yep – it’s one thing to learn the Routine of an ER visit…it’s quite another for ER visits to BECOME Routine.

Edwin left yesterday morning for Nashville, TN, for a conference; he’ll be there till Friday night. I hope he has a good time!

Right, then! The Oil Guy just left, and he’s a sweetie – We have a working furnace! We have falling snow outside, and I’m going to call my lady to see if she needs us this morning. If she doesn’t, we’ll see if Mom needs us before this afternoon – ’cause this afternoon, I have to go pick up my brother from Dialysis, so I’ll see her then, anyway.

Be safe & warm, everyone.

We have the cold but, so far, no fresh snow! I know what you mean about visits to the ER! When one get’s older, systems break down. When I went for a massage last week I told Beth that I was delighted to tell her I had been fine the last two weeks!

Take care of yourself, and yes, heat is GOOD.

It’s always nice when local companies take such good care of you! We are looking at possibly getting more snow Friday. We go for 15+ years without and get it twice in one winter – freaky! Of course we had, at most 2-3 inches accumulation and it shut us down. That’s spring-time weather for ya’ll isn’t it? 😀

Glad you have heat again!

Heat is good….so is staying away from the ER!

may the rest of this winter be ER free for you.

Glad to see things seem to be, in general, working in your favor.
