We’ve changed our name!

As of today, we have officially changed the name of this site to The Open Diary (no more plus). We have also changed the address of the site to http://www.opendiary.com.

The site that used to be called The Open Diary is now Free Open Diary, and has been moved to http://www.freeopendiary.com.

As I announced earlier, this is in keeping with our strategy of making this site our premier diary site.

Over the next few hours, this name change may cause intermittent troubles for some users in finding the sites or unlocking their diaries. Although we have made all the necessary changes on our home servers, it will take a few hours for those changes to propagate out to all the other Internet name servers around the world. There is no way to speed this process up.

In the meantime, if you get a “page cannot be displayed” error when trying to access either site, try closing your browser, going to the site again, and clicking the Refresh button. This will often clear the problem up.

Important: for e-mail, we are going to continue to use the existing opendiaryplus.com mail accounts for you to talk to us. So, if you have a problem, please use the problem@opendiaryplus.com address to report it. Thanks.

Update: forgot one thing – yes, this does mean that your direct address to your diary will now be http://www.opendiary.com/yourname. You will find that the name with plus in it will also work for a couple more days, but that one will eventually stop – so please switch to using http://www.opendiary.com/yourname.
