I find it amazing on a smaller level to watch my 5, soon to be 6 year old, daughter cracking the code of reading. That look in her face when she realized that the single types can make words!

It’s going to be really weird to have a new look here…I was just thinking the other day that I have a fave who has had the exact same looking diary for the entire time she’s been here, and how reassuring and peaceful it is to visit her diary and see it looking the same. ~

The DM changing his diary colours? That’s like…revolutionary! I’m sure you’ve been these colours my whole life on OD, and I’ve been here 5 years. Wow. I had never heard or seen Domo until I stumbled upon your diary so many years ago. I think you had the image with Domo and the kitties. To me Domo and DM go hand in hand! lol. But as they say, a change is as good as a holiday!

I’m always changing my diary colors/layout… In fact, one of my personal NoJoMo challenges is to keep the same layout all month. It’s a real struggle too! *laughs* Sometimes a change really does do you good though. 🙂 Whatever you decide to “experiment” with, I hope it goes well and that you’re pleased with the results!! And now I’m off to bed…I gave myself a 2 AM deadline tobe in bed by tonight also…only I still have 30 minutes left on my clock. SCORE! *laughs* Take good care!

Honestly I liked the Domo picture with the kitty better than the Jedi one. I haven’t changed my diary in years either. Yes I am boring LOL

i like tones of blue too. its hard to invisibly write if your background isnt one of the pre-made colors. you can slightly see it. my stream of consciousness is changing states. gaining substance through technology. before all this noone else would have known or seen these things.

ooh, looking forward to the new colours. I had those leaves as my menu background for a year or so when I first started writing here, I really like the leaves too, except they’re hard to match with other colours. Whenever I see leaves that look like that out in the real world I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic, although I’m just sappy like that 🙂

I think a change is always nice. It takes a little getting used to but then it will feel normal to you. Loved the entry!!!

Yeah, I think the world might spin off it’s axis when I come to read your clever “drivel” and there are no more leaves, no more green (I mean, is there REALLY a better color?) and no more Jedi Domo-kun.

Changing diary colours is such a wrench though… I’ve been pink for years and years!

buy one when I needed one in HS. and years later when my step sisters/brothers needed them they had to fight him about it can’t imagine What he would say about his grandkids being able to operate one as young as 5 lol

I think that *is* exciting news, but it will be tough for us to get used to. Maybe the leaves symbolised the growth and evolution of OD and now you could have a bg image of something more stable, a foundation of some sort, or stone, or a big giant boulder that can never be destroyed? hehee Green is the colour of money though, so you might wanna keep that in some way.

i enjoy changing the colors of my diary every once in a while, it feels refreshing.

I’m anxiously awaiting the new colors and new picture….I, personally, love to change the colors and profile pix and keep up with the seasons. It’s fun and that’s the only reason…:)

I remember being surprised when you rolled out the “new” layout complete with profile pics. I’m still using classic myself (or as much as I can hold on to) but the profile pic is nice. 🙂 I love green but I’m biased to blue as well, but you may be relived to know that both are “relaxing” colors!

Yes, I used to change my diary style all the time, and I guess it’s that time, again. (Although I notice you wrote this a week ago. Fingers gone cold?) I like your tracing of historical print from Gutenburg down through the ages straight to OD. But surely OD is NOT a sign of universal drivel, nor is this entry. Hey, even though I consider Twitter the most apt pretender to that throne of drivel, it was the most helpful during the Iranian election riots, yes? So, I think context is all, medium is NOT *just* the message.

I would really prefer you kept the jedi domo-kun, even if you restyled your OD in other ways!
