Search Your Diary

This is a big one, and one that the team is really happy to roll out today – we have added the ability to search your own diary for words or phrases. When we started rebuilding OD almost two years ago, we chose to build on a highly performing and extendable infrastructure – exactly so we would be able to do things like this in the future.

Please note that the search feature is only available on your own diary – you can search your diary, but nobody else can search your diary, and you can’t search somebody else’s (this is for privacy reasons).

Doing a search is easy – just go to the main menu and click Diary, which takes you to your diary front page. You’ve probably already seen that there are dropdowns there to search for particular months and years. Now, there is a search box you will see above that for looking for words and phrases. For example, if you want to search for “cats” or “Detroit Tigers” just type it into the search box and hit the Go button. This works for all your entries, including the ones from “old” OD.

The month and year selectors still work too, so you can always search that way as well.
