Removing Unused Interests
Hello again,
While I’m very happy to see how popular the new Interests section of the site has been, it’s rapid growth is going to require some new rules for maintenance. As of tonight, there are almost 1,800 diarist-created interests on file, with the number growing hourly.
Because of this, I think we will have to do something to make sure that only interests that are being used remain in the system. So I’ve fed a new rule to the Open Diary software (because we all love to have rules to live by).
Any interest that has been on the system for more than thirty (30) days, and has less than three people associated with it, will be removed. This will ensure that the system doesn’t get clogged up with things like “Underwater Bocce” or “Monkey Phobias” that only have one or two participants.
On an aside, DiaryMistress read my entry from last night about OD’s birthday, looked at the scan of my first entry, and said, “you know, you spelled ‘occasion’ wrong in there”. Never noticed that.
EDIT: Somebody asked if removing an interest that a person has created makes it so that person can create another one (there is a limit of five created per diarist), the answer is yes. If you’ve created five, and one is removed, you can create another one.

but don’t we all have Monkey Phobias?

I actually noticed the spelling error but I didn’t think it was too important, given the occasion 😀

how about reading your problem email insted of worrying about your spelling?

leave it to a woman to notice a detail like that. hehe

Hello again, I’ve noted you before about a diarist on TOD who is hassling people, love 2 piss you off. He/she is really starting to get under my skin. Could you note me back at least to say whether you can fix this very very frustrating problem? Thanks for your time

Well, even if you used Spell Checker it would not have worked. It has not loaded for me for months. And no, I did not have a pop-up ad software running. To check my spelling I have to clip and paste my entry to my email, spell check, correct there and then back to the diary. A little inconvenient wouldn’t you agree? I sent an email ages ago about this but figured you were busy with conversion.

Well, I will certainly miss “Monkey Phobias”, for my part.

i’m a little confused…you’re the diary master, but yet you have a code to cover up all the ads at the top that sponsor your site? i just noticed that…hmm. and i was wondering about when you write an entry…it’s always double spaced. i try to use the break code and it doesnt work. for instance if i want to put lyrics or a survey in my diary. it’s always double spaced and makes the entry long

Hey, ‘occasion’ is MY most often misspelled word. I have a mental block against it…I have to constantly look it up. So, I ‘occasionally’ settle for substitutes like ‘sometimes,’ once in a while,’ etc.! heheh. Guess you could say that I can’t spell occasionally.
