OD Favorites

We’ve added a new utility to allow you to keep your OD favorites list here in OD+. There’s a few things you should know about it.

First, the OD favorites have a screen of their own in your diary. Because they are from a separate site, they can’t live on the same screen as your OD+ favorites. If you click the My Favorites menu at the top of the screen, you will see a new selection – “OD Favorites”.

The first time you go to your OD Favorites list, it will be empty. To bring your favorites list over from OD, you’ve got to follow a couple simple steps. First, go to the front page of OD+ and click the “favorites import facility” link. If you’ve used the diary import facility, this one works just the same. Next, provide your OD name and password to unlock your OD diary. Once you’ve unlocked it, just click the “Transfer Favorites” button to import your favorites list from OD.

You also can add diaries over at OD to your OD Favorites list at any time. Doing this works similarly to leaving notes at OD – you must go to the front page of OD and click the “OD+ users login” prompt to login in over there first. Once you’re logged in at OD with your OD+ name, you will see an “add OD+ favorite” prompt in the left-side menu of any diary contents page. Just click that to add the OD diary to your OD Favorites list over here.

We will also be adding a similar facility in the near future over at OD, so that OD diarists can keep a list of favorite OD+ diaries.
